"in an all-you-can-eat buffet, I'm most important in cleanliness, fresh, quality and diversity. cherng had all these things in full grip. I had a great lunch there. there were at least 10 different sushi choices, suppe, various types of dumplings, noodles, fried rice and about 12 chafing dishs with fresh selection of bark meats, chickens to pork and garnel dishes. these dishes mixed the standard (sweet and sour, bark meat with brokkoli etc). with some interesting choices, in particular a soybean salad I enjoyed very much. the place is full at midday, but I didn't feel shy and there was never a bad wait on the buffet. the dishes were constantly filled up, directly from the open kitchen. Compliment to the young lady on the warm buffet, which left me the fried rice, which had only very little left, not to eat until she exchanged it for a fresh batch. It wasn't my concern to tease me, but to give me fresh, warm food. it was easy to see that the whole company was flashy clean and fresh ingredients were used in dresses that were not allowed to sit "too long". if a new yorker gives an Asian restaurant a great review, I promise it is good! we are not the last expert – I leave the asiate that grew up with the real food – but we are hard with our Asian food, and this place is one of the best Asian buffet restaurants I have ever eaten?"

average sushi place if you want something unusual, choose another place. 10 euro for buffet, drinks not included. the food is delicious. a little overcrowded. friendly staff.

sushi of good quality at an affordable price: 17 € / pers. must be booked at the weekend. 5 minutes walk from the main railway station. buffet is not so huge, but quality is where. waiter are sympathetic.

large selection of food (even suppening, ice, obst, pasta etc). at a good price! it is crowded every day, but they can still find accommodation and enjoy their fresh food. water was a bit expensive (5 euro for 0.750 l)

I was there several times because I live in hamburg, there are different foods from which they can choose and the prices for lunch buffet and evening buffet are different, the dinner has more choice and the sushi is really great. in any case recommend to anyone who wants to eat Asian food (also not so authentic, but that should be enough) Voir le carte

this is the third Chinese buffet restaurant we visited in hamburg, by far the least interesting. there is simply not enough choice and the price is almost equal with a much better choice. also the quality of the food is at best moderate. is it possible to eat a Chinese buffet without sweet-saure pork or chicken? the only meat they can eat in this stuff is fried and it was cold.

the atmosphere was beautiful and the waiters were friendly; most languages also English. but we had much better buffets in America for much less money. this was in our opinion expensive (16.90 $e for dinner). there was a lot of sushi and although there was a series of proteins, including kangaroo meat and seafood, there was not much to add. I usually like the Mongolian art, but you couldn't make your own sauce, so mine wasn't after my taste. the prepared food was very limited. I am sure there are other Chinese restaurants in hamburg that are cheaper and better.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
