"We were a group of English guys staying in Bamberg for a weekend of beer, sightseeing & more beer. Bamberg is, of course, the centre of the universe for fans of beer & brewing culture. One of our group found Cafe Abseits on the internet & it was possibly the best find of the weekend. I contacted the proprietor prior to our arrival to warn him of a group of 14 men in need of a hearty breakfast & some local "where to go" info. When we arrived, tables were reserved for us & we were warmly greeted by the owner who proceeded to tell us about the wonderful beer brewing heritage of Bamberg. We were served up a fantastic breakfast - the emphasis was on hearty portions rather than gourmet presentation, but we were all, without exception, greatly impressed by the quality & size of the meal. In addition to the great breakfast, Cafe Abseits has an impressive beer list, focusing mainly on local produce. We were treated to much inside knowledge from the proprietor during our ordering of beer. A man with an obvious passion for his product ! To cap it off, we were offered a sample beer, on the house, of a special beer brewed by a local independant brewer using hops grown by a local farmer. The owner didn't need to spend so much time with this level of personal attention, but he did & we were all blown away by our visit there. It's tucked away a bit, on the wrong side of the train station for most tourists making their way into town. But that only added to it's charm. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in beer who is visiting this amazing town for the weekend. I could not fault this place & will remain indebted to the owner for such a warm welcome to Bamberg."

"We were at a family meeting in this beautiful brewery inn. Rarely, after a visit to the hotel I was as enthusiastic as with you. The reception was warm and warm. The room is chic and optically suitable for brewery. The food was very delicious and cooked with love, as delicious was the breakfast buffet. All the staff of the house we had to do with were all very friendly and always had a smile on the lips whether the roomfee Gabi, or the servants Fr. Geißler, Fr. von Nippold or Azubine Valerié we felt comfortable all around! We're sure we'll come back, because we'd like to see where this obese Stöffla is brewed. Keep going with such a motivated team you can reach a lot."

"Wir waren heute Mittag im Cafe Zafran essen. Der Service dort ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Vorspeise war wirklich schlecht, das Gemüse im Teig war einfach viel zu lange in der Fritöse und dafür hat man es viel zu kurz abtropfen lassen, dadurch war es viel zu ölig, dazu gab es eine Soße ... dafür dass wir ein Naan und einmal frittiertes Gemüse als Vorspeise hatten... ich finde da wäre mehr als eine Soße angemessen, auch wenn diese Soße gut zu dem Gemüse gepasst hat. Das Naan war leider auch nicht lange genug im Ofen, der Teig war noch nicht mal richtig durch. Was man aber wirklich loben muss sind die Hauptspeisen, wir hatten beide vegetarisch bestellt und es gab geschmacklich nichts zu beanstanden, was aber zu beanstanden war, war das Tiefkühlgemüse in komischerweise nur einem der beiden Gerichte. Der Reis hingegen war sehr gut.Das Zafran würde ich für eine Hauptspeise mit Reis sehr empfehlen, geschmacklich sind die ein Volltreffer.Von Vorspeisen und Naan sollte man eher die Finger lassen.Eventuell werden wir noch einmal kommen."
