"As with previous reviews the food here is outstanding. However, they do need improvement on the service. There was only the manager and one waiter on a Friday night and it was full with a group downstairs as well. The manager was actually very good with his service as he was looking after us, however, the waiter assisting him I presume was new as he wasn't doing very much. So the manager was practically looking after the restaurant by himself, which meant the service was slow. We had to ask for water three times, and my husband had to ask for beer twice. If Mekan improved on service standards then this place would be outstanding. Food came out fast, large quantities, and hot. Couldn't fault the chefs. I will return."

Just opened when we arrived, the service was good, waiter was friendly for his first day and manager gave us a free dessert that was a nice gesture. It was very sweet and I will return.

We had a lovely lazy Sunday meal here. Booked last minute as wanted somewhere local. We couldn't have had a nicer meal for the price. Great Turkish food in contemporary surroundings. Even though there was a huge party in celebrating an 18th and a 60th going on downstairs, the staff where attentive and the food thoroughly tasty. I have taken the kids here before too and had great service. Give it a go.

We had an impromptu family on a Sunday and decided to fall into the Mekan on the way, my father who lives nearby. the staff was friendly and welcoming. the food was cooked for perfection and each in our group of 5 (age 16 to 87) had a great time. we had two courses and drinks including wine and the bill came around £80 that we thought was a great value. have to revise this place in my little book of places

This is a jewel of a restaurant. The food and service are both exceptional, the mixture of flavors is both exciting and interesting, but also complementary and so we let ourselves feel fed. The chefs clearly enjoy their work (they are visible) and care and attention in every meal and we all appreciate that very much. I personally found the ambiance loud and overcrowded, but that was clearly not true for other customers so don't let it stand out. Make sure you book it is deservedly popular.
