"Meal Type: Brunch Price Per Person: £10–20 Food Rating: 4/5 Service Rating: 4/5 Atmosphere Rating: 3/5 I recently visited this restaurant for brunch and had a pleasant experience. The food was definitely a highlight, earning a solid 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Full English Breakfast and the Eggs Benedict, both of which were delicious. The service was also commendable, scoring another 4; the staff were friendly and attentive throughout my visit. The atmosphere was decent but could use a bit more charm, resulting in a rating of 3. Overall, it's a great spot for brunch that I would recommend to others."

"The staff as normal were fabulous, however our main courses were very disappointing, I had the grouse and it was severely undercooked, the waitress had said that it comes pink which I have no problem with, in fact I don’t mind my meat pink, however the breast was seared on one side then from there all the way through it was just raw, they hadn’t even seared both sides, it looked like a piece of raw liver is the only way to describe it. My hubby gave me a piece of his lamb and I gave him my grouse breast, but it was even too raw for him and he wouldn’t eat it. His lamb was no better again the waitress informed us that it comes pink, again no problem but again it was undercooked, the steak knife struggled to cut it and it was a poor cut of meat. The waitress offered to have it recooked but by that time I’d eaten most of the meal (except the meat) and I wasn’t prepared to wait for 3 small pieces of meat to be brought back to us. The mushroom part was also awful, there were no mushroom caps, just the woody underneath of it and it tasted nasty is I also left that so all I had was the potatoes and broccoli. We had been only visited weeks before and I’d had the grouse and it was amazing, I honestly can’t think what went wrong. We also had to wait over 20 minutes for our desserts (both of which were cold) for saying it was 3 courses we were there over 2 hours. I know we won’t be visiting again for a while."

"We got seated straight away and came to take our drinks order. When our drinks arrived we expected her to take our food order but we waited and waited in the end I went to the bar area and asked is it table service or we have to order at the bar. She said she would come to our table. Once we ordered our meal everything was perfect the meal was lovely and the service improved."

"My wife and I, my cousin and her husband, my brother and his wife, and a family friend all stayed overnight at this place on 2nd September. We booked 3 double rooms and 1 twin room. The building is Grade 2 listed so don't expect luxury like the Ritz. Some parts and furnishings need attention, especially a thorough cleaning of the carpets. We all agreed that there were some little things that could be improved, like white paint splashes on the black floors, but overall it didn't detract from our experience. The rooms, dining area, and general areas including the toilets were very clean. The beds and pillows were soft. Parking might be a bit difficult, but you can always rearrange later if needed. The food is from an upscale menu and definitely cooked to order, including breakfast. The menu can be found on their website and may not suit all guests. The staff were very hospitable. The price was £115 per room including breakfast, plus a £20 per night charge for our dog. We had no complaints about our stay here. It is a great place to stay if you are visiting Chatsworth House, as we were there for a country show for 2 days. Our total bill was £430.00 for 4 rooms with breakfast, plus 7 meals and a bar bill of £220.00. It was definitely worth a try."

"We visited on Thursday evening to celebrate my birthday, and from the moment we entered, we were truly impressed. The ambiance was beautiful, with rose petals scattered everywhere and a lovely smoky aroma that welcomed us. Our meal was simply stunning! The starter arrived with flames on the plate, and our curry was nothing short of perfection. James and the other waiter, who was from Nepal, provided exceptional service. They were very friendly and kept us updated on the timing between courses. They even took the time to chat and share some laughs with us. Although we can be a bit restless, there wasn't a single thing that we felt was lacking. The prices were also quite reasonable. We can't wait to return in the future!"
