Malta Inn Beefeater

Visited beefeater today with 2 toddlers. Despite being very busy Mark was very friendly and patient with the children which mad our visist very pleasant. Thank you! :

The food was excellent. Katie was very attentive and worked hard running up and down those stairs. Bless her for the amazing roast potatoes. Happy belated birthday, Katie!

The food was ok. My sons sirloin steak was flattened to within an inch (actually more a centimetre) of its life! Bit pricey for what you get! Our server was absolutely fantastic, though. Very friendly and helpful. Nice setting Voir le carte

Always liked it here for business but concerned as the following day experienced the worst food poisoning ever. I had calamari and then salmon for dinner. Cooked breakfast next day. Travelling around for work. Spent hours in the Dover Premier inn in the bathroom. Couldn't even keep down water. May have to miss work and try to get home.

Came for a catchup dinner with my brother in law. We chose the Malta Inn, as its equi-distance from us both. The food is your usual Beefeater fayre. It will not win awards, but it's tasty, filling, and arrived freshly cooked and hot. The service was really good. The waitress was really polite and attentive, despite it being fairly busy.

Yet again a wasted visit, (12.30 am on 20/03/24), queued for over 1/2 hour to get served our drinks, Large number of people waiting to get served , many like ourselves gave up, always seems the same, must be losing a fortune in lost sales. Cannot understand how it keeps open. A shame as with any decent management it would be a lovely pub given its position. Voir le carte

I love the Malta but they are so slow at the bar for getting drinks etc in my honest opinion the place is short staffed and normally the waiting is down to food and drinks being ordered at the till/bar usually by one or two other staff members maximum!! I am not moaning or criticising the individual/s staff members at all just the management and general niggle to be fully clear on this occasion

The service was very good. My friend had the lasagne which she said was lovely. I had cheeseburger and chips but said that I didn't want any sort of sauces, mayo etc with mine. Having stipulated that I was still given dressing on my salad and a large portion of coleslaw with my meal. I asked for no sauces for a reason and had to ask for another plate to scrape it off. The waitress did apologise though. For the price they charged for the meal, it was very disappointing especially as the fries were cold too. The deserts were very nice.

UPDATE 2024 May Staff very friendly and attentive, location on a Early summer evening fantastic, food very ordinary. UPDATE 2024 April Service very good, unfortunately the chips were not up to standard. So can not give an extra star. No UPDATE 2023 December. Had to remove a star as the Beefeater beefburgers, which were probably the best I have ever tasted in restaurant have changed. Service was very good and attentive (5stars). House red wine pretty good for the price. UPDATE 2023 October Had a great surprise, they had a guest ale called Fresh Legs which was a nice acompanyment to my meal, staff very friendly and they always get the bill right first time, not like another close by Beefeater....
