food was over priced for the quality given. staff not too attentive. restaurant area was cold. did not feel welcomed.

Everything went smoothly, the seating, the table, the ambience. The food was well prepared and served hot. Staff were attentive and friendly and helpful.

Food delicious, the calamari starter particularly. Praveen looked after us very well. Room a bit bright, lacking in atmosphere. A lovely evening though fir a family get together

Having lunched here many times before, I knew what to expect although I would add that the service was more attentive than I have experienced before. I did go for my usual choice (steak frites) which was as always very enjoyable.

We ordered the Chateaubriand, fries, and a bottle of wine special at this restaurant. The steak was delicious, but there wasn't enough of it - my partner could have easily eaten it all himself! Despite this, it was good value and the service was excellent from start to finish, even on a busy night. We were pleasantly surprised by a beautifully decorated dessert plate for our special occasion.

Not much as in Edinburgh recently. We ordered steaks that were all right, not great, just OK. My wife ordered a chocolate fond for dessert. Kellner said that the regular cook was out, so it can last longer than usual. 25mins later he comes back and says he had to tie the one he had done when it was a disaster. Couple of espressos on the house. Fondant finally arrives in the middle. Deleted from the bill. Need better chefs. It won't go back.

We stayed at the Malmaison in Edinburgh and found it to be an excellent hotel with high standards. However, we were disappointed when we were rejected for our evening meal. Despite booking a table for 8pm through the app, we arrived at 7:50 pm only to be told there was no table available. This left us feeling embarrassed and let down. In search of a meal, we walked to Commercial Quay where we found a very good French restaurant that was able to accommodate us.

Located in the charming suburb of Leith in Edinburgh, this restaurant is visually appealing. However, the service left much to be desired. While the food was decent, the servers displayed indifference towards us. We were taken aback by the high price of our main dish and an additional charge of £5 for bread. Furthermore, gratuity was automatically included in our bill without our consent. When we raised our concerns about the extra charges, our server informed us that it is the restaurant's policy to not mention these costs upfront and to wait for customers to complain.
