Madagascar - Menu

A delightful surprise. In deepest Stuttgart I came across this restaurant serving a wide variety of African dishes with a good selection of wine and beer. Decoration was as authentic as possible - a fantastic experience!

After reading previous reviews we decided to go for a nice dinner. Great restaurant and food looked and tasted great. We all decided to try the lamb because of trip advisor reviews and it was great. But wish we would have tried some of the other dishes.

Okay for evening meal in happy hour, but the food is not brilliant just standard and a weird part in the back which makes you feel as though you are camping out! service is also not the best. We wont be going back in a hurry. Outside usually full of smokers.

Try to go to the back of the restaurant for the authentic feel, sit on cushions on the floor or enjoy the other part of the restaurant with sand underneath your feet. The food was amazing, we recommend the lamb and the mix of vegetarian dishes. The service can take a while, but lean back and enjoy your cocktail with a candlelight. It's worth waiting..

The food is very good, seasoned perfectly and the portions are just right.The Alligator was better than I had eaten previously. Ostrich was pretty much the same as previous meals. I never had zebra before so I had to try it; very good.Flavored beer was interesting, guava, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, etc.Staff was very friendly, service good but food preparation takes more than average time. Worth it in my opinion.

We popped in for a drink on our weekend away, great atmosphere... the room at the back is fab, sandy floor, African decorations and music & lit by candles. Really chilled out. We didn't have the food but it looked great & decent portions too. The service was good when we arrived; very friendly and helpful but was very slow after that, maybe because they didn't want to bother us? Would definitely go back if I was to visit Stuttgart again.

The food we had was very simple but the portions were so huge it took us some time to be able to sit straight again. The service was quite busy and unfortunately we had to get up a couple of times to ask for drinks and so but this is something that will soon be forgotten. What will stay with me for a longer time is the unique experience of dining in Madagascar while sitting on the floor under a big Bedouin like tent. A tip for girls: If you want to dine in the 'tent' section make sure the cloths you are going to be wearing will allow you to sit comfortably on the pillow on the floor ; )

I must say "Never in my Wildest Dream", would I being a California native ever thought I would try Zebra, Ostrich and Crocodile.......but that's what I ordered being a daredevil, when we took one of my co-workers out for her birthday....my friends were taking pictures of my food and they couldn't believed I order it and I must say the crocodile was the tenderest of the meats and it wasn't so bad. I had to order a side of rice and two drinks because just the mental thought in my head of what I just ate......yeah if I wasn't driving it would have been three. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice....I would go back again, and maybe try something else not so exotic.

Our group went there on June 18 and the food was OK but the service was TERRIBLY SLOW. We had reservations for about 30 people and were asked to pre-order well before the event. Since we had done as they requested, one would think that our meals would be served quickly but no, we ALL had to wait one to two hours for our entrees. Those who had pre-ordered appetizers or salads received those items in a fairly reasonable time, about 20 minutes. This restaurant seems to have significant problems meeting the needs of a large group.
