MUST-TRY RESTAURANT in Lucca!!! Amazing food, all home-made and fresh. Reasonable prices, maybe a bit too less food per dish, but overall great experience. Michael and his wife are wonderful people. They have many gluten free options. Our granddaughter had special gluten free pasta and pistachio sauce! Michael speaks English so don't worry if that is an issue for you. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pasta fresh made with special pistachio sauce! Kid-friendliness: Mia always wanted to go back. This was the BEST dining experience my family and I had in Lucca (and that’s a high bar)! It’s a family owned business and their hospitality and pride in their restaurant shone through! The service was impeccable our servers Sam and I didn’t get his name, but he’s married to the owner were extremely friendly and welcoming. They made us feel like one of the family and I watched them do the same with the other patrons. And the food was outstanding! The chef owns the restaurant and she is excellent. I can’t recommend Lucca in Tavola enough if you’re in Lucca for any reason, you need to eat at this restaurant. If we were staying longer, we definitely would be back! Let me start by saying that we booked around December 4th (10 of us at the largest table in the place). Nice location, small place with a maximum of 6 other tables in addition to ours. We arrive on site with a welcome aperitif. Then the situation worsens. From 9.30pm to 11pm we only receive the starter (extremely bad). We had to ask for bread several times (it had NOT even been served before). Tortelli arrived after 11pm (only 3 tortelli in a portion), good gnocchi and the right portion. The second course arrives, as per the menu agreed upon booking, and we discover that the side dish of baked potatoes is finished. Meanwhile, more time passes and the second arrives around 11.45pm. Eating here was the best restaurant experience that my family had in all of Italy, and that's quite a compliment considering all of the different places we have tried over 9 days. I made reservations on Google maps, and they had a table set aside for us when we arrived with our name on a sign. The service provided was unique and special. They made us feel like VIPs from the moment we walked in to the time we walked out. I tried to pay attention to other tables while we were there and I believe everyone was made to feel as special as we were. The food was equally as good as the service. While everything we ate was amazing, the quiche, pistachio pasta, and traditional spring soup really stood... Voir le carte
