"lode stijn, located in the fashionable friedrichhain, offers a set menu on 100, or 115, depending on the day of the week, its ingredients from named producers and has a michelin green star. instead of the proposed aperitif we decided to have a bottle of wine. the waiter reaction indicated that this was a strange thing. the wine list is quite something with interesting and niche wines and could use land/region header, to the happiness of sommelier, that is a stratified counter, helped us a 2019 rully les mazieres that tasted very beautiful, also as aperitif! the 3 amuses, a spinach roll, bitter balls and flowery toast pure and slightly interesting. I thought the same of sweet, wild salmon and zucchini stars. then the question came whether we want to extend our menu with an additional cure of marinated coquilles (at 25 and since I loved the ones I couldn't resist. I'm glad it was really good! our bottle wein ran out so we started to follow the wine paring proposals. the main course was beautiful. then another extension, cheese (at 15 we skipped. they were nice. the weeping of the dry grazing with desert was very interesting. the coquilles were great. the other courses ok. I don't like surprise extensions to the menu, especially when they turn out to be a highlight. in short: too expensive for what it offers."

What a fabulous Berlin restaurant. The passion for the locally sourced produce is evident through out the menu and the wine pairing is incredible. The sommelier...what a story teller. If you’re in Berlin, do yourself a favour and head to Lode Stijn.

The kombucha juices were far better than the juice pairing at Noma. My family and I tried the rose one and the shrub one. Every dish was wholesome, light and perfect for the summer. You could really taste the natural ingredients. The sizings were also...perfect, we never felt overstuffed or rushed at any point in the meal. Was healthy and delicious and we enjoyed every moment of it. The desserts were insane. Hope to come back again soon

This is an ambitious restaurant with prices to match. Service was excellent. Wine pairing excellent. For this restaurant to jump up to Michelin rated, the recipe choices need to be stronger on the tasting menu prix fixed. I don’t mind paying for small portions, wonderfully...presented, so long as the food pops out. In one case, it popped out too salty: always a sign of inattention in the kitchen. Still, this restaurant has good bones for a hit.

We loved everything about our evening at Lode Stijn. The tasting menu and wine pairing worked perfectly and the service was excellent. The seasonal menu was vibrant and the wine pairings were thoughtful and well chosen. We've been so pleased to expand our experience...with German wine varieties less prevalent in the US, and L S added to that growing list. Our evening was a perfect combination of a comfortable setting and host, and creative, fulfilling meal. Will happily recommend this restaurant to friends coming to Berlin.

Very pleased with our choice of this restaurant. The restaurant delivers a tasting menu with wine pairing. Some real standout dishes and drinks with particular favourites being the veal tartare and poached oyster. The sommelier was very good and knowledgeable and the drinks accompanied the...food perfectly. The but comes in regarding the rest of the service. Hard to put my finger on it and whilst not unfriendly it did not feel overly warm. Ultimately did not detract much from the overall enjoyment of the evening but could have made the experience even better.

I look forward to the good review of lode stijn, but unfortunately it was nothing to rave. the service is everywhere and we were served by all eating, including the front of the house, sommelier and the cook...(and so nobody really knew what was going on. the main problem, however, was the very long waiting period between the curses (and with a paired menu, that meant waiting us with nothing to drink! . we had to complain several times, but it did not take us far in a total of 6 course menu lasted us 4 hours to get through that is quite remarkable. it is a shame because eating itself was good, but they need to get a better hand on the service because it really influenced the night.

My daughter and I enjoyed a very pleasant evening at this modern fine dining establishment with a fixed price tasting menu. I agree with a recent reviewer that while the food is extremely well presented and interesting, especially the beef tartare with anchovies, many of...the courses lacked a taste ‘punch’ for the high cost of the small portions on the fixed menu. The wine pairing represents value for money and is very carefully thought out. One note of caution, if you pre-ordered a vegetarian option. You must tell the waiter as soon as you have arrived that a vegetarian meal is required. This action is necessary even if you have specified while booking the reservation and then confirming t...

we ate here a weekday evening, book before (note, there is an ugly no show fee.) the ambiente is pleasant, although one of our party found the bench uncomfortable. the personal was friendly, although not the answer to some of our (fairly basic.) ask about eating. they can mix a complex set menu with add ons, with set wine menu or only separate glasses from it. there are many amuses to start, all very pretty; black tart was particularly charming. a first cure of makrelensalat with birne was interesting. with cauliflower also; delicious broth. the lamb with the aubergine was ok, although the baba ghanoush was a little spicy for my taste, and I would have preferred the lamb less well made. ther...
