"We arrived randomly at Pontremoli and we were amazed by the kindness and hospitality of its people! Just before going back home we decided to eat something and, even though they were all full, the owner of Osteria della Luna look our cold faces and invited us to come in and eat something. We were even in a little hurry and she and her team helped us a lot in deciding the best dishes! Everything was delicious, all hand made and traditional testaroli al pesto, gnocchi di castagne and taglierini al ragù di salchicha e funghi: buonisimo! The environment was very warm and delicate! Abbiamo Pontremoli e questa Osteria nel cuore! Grazie mille!"

"A rather odd meal in an otherwise empty restaurant and we suspect we now know why! Ordered acchiughe starter expecting local equivalent of fried whitebait, but what arrived were the salted tinned version, nicely displayed with oil, chopped parsley and a little roasted pepper garnish, served with small toasts and butter curls but at 13 Euros each we felt cheated! My main course of the local testaroli I had expected would be made with chestnut flour but I couldn’t taste it, and they were ‘pleasant’ but nothing special. My partner had an unusual main course based on cheeses he was expecting hot and sizzling ones, a small goat cheese was, but the other four were just small slices of various local cheeses served with tiny condiment pots, one of chestnut honey (good with the goat cheese) one of a very ordinary pear compôte and one a simple chutney, nothing else and hardly a filling, or even balanced meal! With one coffee and a bottle of local Prosecco the bill came to a hefty (for this area) E73.00 we won’t return in a hurry!"

"Siamo capitati per caso in questo locale una domenica sera. Accolti con gentilezza leggermente ruvida dal titolare che ci ha accontentato e consigliato nelle scelte di piatti tipici della Lunigiana. Abbiamo mangiato come antipasto quello tipico Lunigiano (salumi , fiori di zucca e torta di verdura e come piatto principale i testaroli al pesto e tagliata di carne. Tutto molto buono e genuino. Vino della casa e’ un piacevole san felice. Plauso quindi al ristoratore che sa il fatto suo e ci tiene molto ad offrire alla clientela prodotti autentici e di ottima qualità. Molto consigliato"

"Nice food, it's a good lunch spot. Love the seafood. We booked a table and arrived on time, it took so long to be acknowledged by staff we lost the table we booked. Were finally sat half an hour after our booking, during which a waiter rolled his eyes at us and complained because we needed a table with shade, not in the sweltering glass box. We had a baby with us and requested to not be directly in the sun in advance, we must have reiterated it a dozen times. But they took so long to organise themselves and seat us, they closed off the section with an empty table we'd been asking to sit at for nearly half an hour. It wasn't too late to sit there when we arrived, but it was when they finally remembered us. Had they sat us at the time we booked, they wouldn't have had to shift things around to accommodate us. There was no reason for that attitude."

"We have been going to the restaurant for approx 25 years and as the usual the the food was good however i ordered a tortelli with mushroom for my wife and they brought her a tagliatelle and mushroom i was going to send the dish back but my wife said it's ok , then as she was finishing the dish , one of the staff brought over a plate of tortelli with mushroom and apologises that they had made a mistake. Great. As we were eating the tortellini , one of the owners came over and said the that tagliatelle was not ours which i found rude as it was their mistake however for once in my life i bit my tongue? We finished the meal and i paid and asked for a receipt , then i notice that i had been charged for their mistake , when i ask why , she stated that you ate the food and i should pay as if i was an idiot, i replied its your mistake not ours quite sharply why should i pay, she offered me the money back reluctantly but i did not accept as i was angry and need to leave , i walk out for the last time and will not be going back . Food is always good , in my opinion the sevice over the last few times of eating there has not been great this is not what you should expect in italy considering what the sevice used to be like."
