"Excellent food, let down by interesting levels of service. Firstly, we rang ahead, as we were on the highway and would arrive in around 45 minutes, so wanted to secure a table. We were told they were fully booked, so we asked to reserve a...little later, again, fully booked the whole day! My wife said let's try it anyway, as it has a lot of good reviews, so we arrived to find dozens of empty tables very strange and potentially costly for the management. We were seated quickly and were immediately served bread and oil, which was very good quality. Our order was taken and the drinks were delivered. Unfortunately, it started to rain hard and you could see the staff running around to collect cushions, glasses etc. from the pre-set tables. This is partially understandable (though if you don't have protection against the weather, perhaps you set the tables as the diners arrive) leaving us waiting for 1 hour without food. I raised this with a nice guy (possibly Raffaele) who appologised and sought to fix the problem. Shortly afterwards our food arrived. It was pretty good in quality, taste and value for money, and we were compensated with a free dessert due to the long waiting time. I think this could be a stand-out restaurant in Baden-Baden with a little more thought to staff training/attitude and the general running of the place. Hopefully your experience will be 5 stars and we were just unlucky."

"super restaurant, we like to come back! mega service, tasty eating and sweet ambiente. but it is not so loud that you can no longer entertain yourself, what made us feel and we have only seen in the aftertaste, is that on the bill a drink money is already calculated and we have given double drinking money. otherwise everything super"

"So.... Unsure where to park my bike after a 450 mile day in 35degC of humidity, I parked at the rear of the hotel. Before my legs had hit the ground I saw a chap marching toward me. Braced for "you can't leave that there" I was pleasantly surprised to hear "Hello, welcome to Athos. Would you like me to put that in a garage for you? Take your jacket off and I'll get you a beer". I was dumbfounded, in a good way obviously! And Athos just continued to impress me. I was shown to me room (bike safely locked away) and I honestly thought my host was joking. The room was HUGE! Old oak furnishings, a very comfy bad and a bathroom bigger than most hotel rooms I stay in ensured a great night's sleep and a very comfortable stay. Out of biker mode and in 'normal' clothes, I visited the restaurant. The food was traditional Greek and I have to say, very nice indeed, and very cheap in my view. Apart from my welcome beer (on the house) I received 3 Ouzo shots from my host, which probably contributed to my god night's sleep . I would have no hesitation in returning to Hotel Athos. The hospitality, accommodation, food and drink are all first class. Baden Baden is pretty nice too!Strongly recommended."

"Ich war mein einer Arbeitskollegin nach der Arbeit in Da Michele essen. Obwohl wir unter der Woche da waren, war das Restaurant gut ausgebucht und nachdem wir das Essen bekommen haben, weiß ich auch warum. Die Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich und handgeschrieben. Ich hatte Pizza Gorgonzola mit Spinat und Salat. Die Pizza war sehr lecker. Die Kellnerinnen waren sehr aufmerksam: waren mehrmals bei uns am Tisch, hatten nachgefragt, ob wir noch etwas brauchen. Das war bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir dorthin zum Essen gehen."
