L'inflexible - Carte

Il ne s'appelle plus L'Inflexible ! Maintenant c'est Newport. Un nom étrange pour un café restaurant français ! Il semble avoir changé de propriétaire ! Changement de bière. Changement de parasols. Toujours la même sélection de plats.

A nice place, not pretentious, with a wide range of galettes and salads but with a somewhat limited meat and fish range. The mussels, when in season, are sourced locally and are excellent. Food is reasonably priced as are the wines and beers. Nice view over river.

Fantastic. An absolutely first-rate discovery, we were incredibly lucky to stumble across this place. Having been here for coffee before our (rather short) boat trip, we decided to return for lunch. The lunchtime trade on a rainy mid-week day was extremely busy, don't be late. The buffet is brilliant, everything we has was spot on. Voir le carte

On a very hot day my husband and I popped into this restaurant (after having lunch there) for a cup of tea. The tea came without milk, , I asked for some and was charged an extra 2.50euros for a small jug of hot milk!! This is the first and only place where we have ever been charged for milk.I did question the charge but all I got was a shrug from the very rude and insolent waitress. who incidentally had previously questioned what I had had for lunch.I give one star for the other waitress.

Wasn't sure whether to rate this as poor or terrible - but decided to be kind! The food was mediocre and the service was terrible. We were not sure whether to sit inside or outside and eventually we were directed to an inside table. We were then abandoned! There were at least four staff on duty but they ignored us for a considerable time. Eventually we were served and I can only describe their attitude as "surly". Considering that there are other restaurants nearby would definitely not recommend this one and would certainly not return.

Dans le barrage à la recherche d'un sandwich ou de quelque chose de léger, j'ai remarqué une table et j'ai découvert que le déjeuner était seulement à 11€ et comprenait 250ml de vin! J'ai donc décidé de lui donner une chance, et c'était très bon, surtout... pour le prix. J'ai commencé avec une salade italienne, suivi d'un merlu dans une riche sauce au beurre avec des aubergines rôties et des frites, suivi d'un caramel crémeux ou d'un gâteau breton à la crème. Tout était très savoureux et le service était correct. C'était une journée brillante et j'étais heureux de m'asseoir au soleil pour le prochain plat. Voir le carte

Great place for a drink or ground meal, overlooking the marina. This bar restaurant has changed hands so often, in recent years, but hopefully, the latest owners will make part of it. You are kind and really hard working. The food on...offer varies depending on the season. In addition to the season there is a self-service buffet starter, main course, simple dessert wine for approx. 11 Euro, but in the season, these changes to a la carte limited but sufficient menu, I am not a burger eater, usually but they do a middle burger! Shells, omelets, fish and chips, all right. Also, they do very beautiful ice creams and crepes all day! Hard gourmet, but great value and atmosphere.

This bar brasserie has great views over the Vilaine river by the lock and is popular with local workers but often full of tourists. The set menu for lunch was €11 for 3 courses including 1/4L wine. The starter was a self service buffet. Usual salads...but also whelks and tuna mayonnaise and a home made chicken terrine a bit different. The mains were either grilled beef or sausage or chicken, served with mountains of chips, lettuce and vegetables too, if wanted. Too much to finish. The sweets were the usual French selection I had Ile flottante but also poached pear or fresh fruit salad not so common. Service was good and atmosphere lively. This restaurant has recently changed hands and the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Situated in the marina at the Arzal Barrage, many of the customers are from the boats in the marina, but we saw groups of office workers having their lunch there. Their three course lunch menu looked both good value and interesting at 11 euros including a glass of wine, but we just had a couple of crepes and cider, although we did have excellent steaks one evening, which, including a couple of beers before supper, a pitcher of wine and a shared pudding came to 40 euros.The view is out over the marina and the lock through the barrage and there is always something going on!
