"While riding one of Dresden's many Trams through the city streets, I saw a place called Da Luigi and double-backed on the tram The tram stop is right in front of this restaurant. I'd been jonesin' for some pasta and this placed looked...legit. Ristorante Da Luigi has good furniture, solid wood and large windows. I was the only customer, and thought I'd made a mistake. The friendly waitress seated me and presented the menu. I chose the lasagna and a good dark beer. Soon, a group of about moms with their kids. A couple showed up after that. The lasagna was boiling in its ceramic dish when presented. It took minutes of stirring and creative spoon wielding to get it down to its edible temperature. Luckily, there was tasty bread in the basket, and the beer was fantastic. And, the lasagna was well worth waiting for. Thick noodles with cheese and mushrooms and sausage and a total delight. I paid about euros for an excellent Italian meal, including the beer. Da Luigi also makes Pizza, but I don't know if it delivers. Can't say I'll ever be in Dresden again, but I'd eat here again!"

This restaurant is situated in a nice and quiet area. Service and food were both great. Good value for money.

Cute little restaurant. The portions were big The grilled salmon was delicious! The service was nice and there wasn't a long waiting time. The prices are reasonable and in accordance with the food quality and quantity.

We saw a report on trip advisor about this restaurant and then stumbled across it while we were staying at the Mercure Hotel Elbepromenade and exploring the area. It is very nice with an outdoor seating area (we went indoors) and a good menu offering...both Pizza and Pasta, also meat and fish dishes. We tried a pasta dish and a pizza which were both excellent, the wines and beers were reasonaly priced.

One only has to be sort of a pathfinder when in the city of Dresden. This attractive place for a rustic meal lies a little in secret and away from the main streets. The host and his employees are very kind and professional in the...service. The kitchen is excellent and offers tasteful courts predominantly from Saxony's delicious recipes. Furniture equipped attractively is rustic the premises and offer an attractive frame for German cosy atmosphere. With a group of friends we enjoyed a beautiful evening with good meal and drink. If I lived in Dresden, I would eat at Da Luigi once or twice every month. I had the Grill teller , which was on special, I asked for potatoes cooked other than french fries. I received a large salad, a grilled beef steak, a...grilled pork steak and a grilled turkey steak, along with a large dish of oven baked potatoes in sizzling butter, yum. I couldn't finish the meal, the portion was just too generous. My wife ordered a turkey steak which was covered with ham and mozzarella seasoned superbly and was outstandingly delicious. Our third diner ordered the cheeses penne pasta, huge portion, very rich and he wanted to but couldn't finish it, just too much. We were hosted by a very friendly and w...

What a curious restaurant ... a former Wind Mill! Not certain how long this place as been operating as a restaurant venue but it is quite interesting. For the food: German to the core and add to that Saxon cuisine. Had reservations for persons...and arrived slightly early and we were ushered in easily. The food appeared slowly and when we got it realized it really was prepared to order, not from a cafeteria style kitchen. I was the only American among the The others were saxons and believed the food to be quite fine. My only tip: if your are walking challenged in any way, be careful. I saw nothing that was a ramp. Steep stairs up to the front door. While there IS outdoor seating, not certain...

"Quite disappointed. The prices and past reviews made me believe this was going to be a fine dining experience to remember. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Atmosphere upon entry was awkward, with several waiters and waitresses (including the apparant hostess) passing us by multiple times before we were greeted and seated. After waiting 20 minutes to order our entry drinks we ordered a 4 course surprise menu containing meat and fish respectively, including a wine pairing menu. We were quite curious to see what variety of meats and fish choices the kitchen would come up with in their simplest of surprise menu's. Imagine our surprise when the first course was vegetarian! Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoy vegetarian meals, but thats everything we didnt order.. The second course, a clear beef soup, was very standard and boring. And I must admit the main course iberico ham with a good pairing red wine was ok. My partners fish main course (the only one of 3, after ordering for a 3 course fish surprise menu) wasnt interesting at all, and had a weird wine choice. Sadly the last course was again mediocre as the full sweet dessert wine overruled the sort of sweet dessert. After the second course the staff stopped asking how the food was, as if they knew it wasnt up to Gault Millau standards. Ordering drinks after dessert was only possible by walking up to the bar ourselves, so no thanks. Even the bill we had to go fetch ourselves at the bar. Even here the staff didnt even dare ask how everything was and if we enjoyed our dinner. All in all: a lot of potential but overall disappointing. Would not recommend"
