"The restaurant is under new ownership and is now called Chez Jean Noel, however the new signs have not been installed.Very warm welcome by the owner and his wife along with advice that all the food is home made and prepared in their kitchen. The restaurant makes traditional and Asian dishes (Vietnamese). Gone are table cloths replaced by plastic coverings and brightly coloured napkins. The menu is hand written along with a number of confusing "Postits". The evening menu consisted of at three course meal, Entre, Main and sweet, for €19, or al la carte.I had the Foire gras, very tasty, but a little too much fat on top for me, also it came with only two very small pieces of toast. My wife had the nems (spring rolls) which she though to be excellent. We both had entrecote as the main, disappointingly it was very thin, and was accompanied only bychips, which were a bit soggy, the plate would have been better with another vegetable or a piece of lettuce or tomato. It did come with a mustard sauce which was flavoufull. The choice of desert was coffee, tarte tan tan or ice cream. We both had the tart tan tan, which was nice but not inspiring. We both had kir as an apero, and at €4 we thought a little expensive for the type of restaurant. Generally wine was about €16 a bottle but we opted for a half carafe of the local Duras wine at €6.50.We were the only customers that evening, so the ambience was not too good, all in all we enjoyed our meal, but thought that for a similar or less cost we could have done better else where. We think it would be better for lunch where there is a €13 menu, two courses and a glass of wine."
