"The restaurant is under new ownership and is now called Chez Jean Noel, however the new signs have not been installed.Very warm welcome by the owner and his wife along with advice that all the food is home made and prepared in their kitchen. The restaurant makes traditional and Asian dishes (Vietnamese). Gone are table cloths replaced by plastic coverings and brightly coloured napkins. The menu is hand written along with a number of confusing "Postits". The evening menu consisted of at three course meal, Entre, Main and sweet, for €19, or al la carte.I had the Foire gras, very tasty, but a little too much fat on top for me, also it came with only two very small pieces of toast. My wife had the nems (spring rolls) which she though to be excellent. We both had entrecote as the main, disappointingly it was very thin, and was accompanied only bychips, which were a bit soggy, the plate would have been better with another vegetable or a piece of lettuce or tomato. It did come with a mustard sauce which was flavoufull. The choice of desert was coffee, tarte tan tan or ice cream. We both had the tart tan tan, which was nice but not inspiring. We both had kir as an apero, and at €4 we thought a little expensive for the type of restaurant. Generally wine was about €16 a bottle but we opted for a half carafe of the local Duras wine at €6.50.We were the only customers that evening, so the ambience was not too good, all in all we enjoyed our meal, but thought that for a similar or less cost we could have done better else where. We think it would be better for lunch where there is a €13 menu, two courses and a glass of wine."

Bon repas, service agréable, en fait bien meilleur sur tous les plans qu'auparavant. Pour un menu "ouvriers", c'était très bon. Tout fait maison.

Closest and only restaurant in Villeneuve de duras. Staying just 309 metres away so very convenient. Mixture of French and Asian food, all cooked very well. Nice ambience. The chef only speaks French however. We had the fixed menu in the evening and was very good.

Delightful meet & greet. on a Monday in December, a la Carte, menus 13€ et 19€ also Pizza. we started with Salade Lanadaise & Foie Gras, Then Entrecote et Frites Maison & Magret de Canard, then we both had Café Gourmand, superb 19€ menu, superb bread & water, perfect parking to the rear, a great find & will be returning.

We went here for dinner with friends. It is our local resturant and we wanted to support it. It is very jolly with multicoloured tablecloths and napkins and has a relaxed atmosphere with TV on in the bar and waiter dressed in jogging bottoms ( looking a little too relaxed for my liking, but the service was fine). The menu had lots of choice with some asian options as well as french. The hand written menu with post it notes was a little strange, but serviceable. The food was good. The starters are generous and delicious. The beef was a little overcooked for my liking. We had a pleasant evening and look forward to returning soon.

Several friends had recommended this restaurant to us, it is situated 5 minutes northof Duras on the D708 at Villeneuve de Duras. We had a very pleasant meal, lots ofchoice and definite notes of Vietnamese cuisine included, such as homemade nems, poulet laqué and poulet au caramel with Thai rice. The restaurant is nicely appointed, the service is swift and the staff are friendly. Jean-Noel took this restaurant over justa month ago and will soon be changing the name from the present one to Chez Jean-Noel. The restaurant is open every day, lunch and evening and includes Sunday evening. The websites which say the restaurant is closed Sunday eveningare out of date. We would definitely go again and...

I felt I had to review this again as it had changed so much. We had expected a lovely meal like last year but were totally surprised that the restaurant had morphed into a cafe. Any resemblance of fine food and good presentation has disappeared and even the menu was hand written in gaudy colours. It more resembled a British transport cafe than a restaurant. We couldn't wait to leave. Unfortunately it took nearly 20 mins to get the bill as they didn't seem to know how to work the till to add it up for them. A French couple came in while we were there. They read the menu and I heard some laughing after which they upped and left. They too were unimpressed it seems.I had to put this right as my...

Under new management who have apparently come from Paris ( as were the last managers) ...disappointing. Ever since this restaurant changed from Le Jardin the food seems to have gone downhill. Believe me we have given it plenty of visits.I was really excited that the menu was to include Asian food under the new owners, as we are desperately short of this in the area.Unfortunately it was a let down, my husbands nem/ spring rolls were no different to the ones you can buy in the supermarket. The "spicy" chicken was tender but hardly seasoned and I had to add sambal/ chilli to give it any taste. The duck was ok.However,my coddled eggs in Roquefort, to start were excellent. As others have said may...
