"After all the nightmare of the pandemic, we wanted to still celebrate our anniversary without getting involved with crowds of people. We decided to visit the Lakeview Palace (yes, palace' NOT place, see photo attached). Despite this little gem being on our doorstep we...have never been before, but we will definitely go again. Having consulted the menu we decided to have a full dinner here to mark the occasion and ordered the gammon steak. We both had a more than generous plate of gammon, chips, egg, pineapple and peas. Actually, they did run out of peas so my Husband had mushrooms and I went without despite a jovial conversation with the chef who tried to persuade me to pick between a vast choice of substitutes for the peas. There was far too much for either of us to finish but it was all very enjoyable. My Husband chose a large slice of fruit cake for dessert and I picked a giant chocolate cookie. Both of which we brought home being too full to eat them. We had a milkshake each, which brought the cost up to around Very reasonable for the amount and quality of food. We used the toilets which were very clean. It was a lovely sunny day and the cafe was very popular but with plenty of seating. Many people were obviously regulars which is always a good sign."

Visited for lunch on the December first day of the end of lockdown Staff were very helpful and friendly, food was excellent, Seating well spread, plenty of outside seating too. Table service staff all wore masks. We felt safe and looking forward...to meeting up with the family there for Sunday Lunch.

We met some friends here for breakfast at their recommendation. It's quite small and the weather was very wet so it was busy inside. There was quite a queue to order food as well but the staff worked as quickly as they could. Food was...great a good selection so there was something for everyone. Just love the vibe of this friendly place especially on Sunday. Meat is always tender and no frozen veg here.! Great roast. Have also had many other dishes. Salad is amazing. Lovely to finish with a coffee on the patio outside in the sunshine. The...boat hire and ice creams are always a hit with the grandchildren. Lovely family run place they make you feel so welcome. have to remember cash only

Stopped off at Lakeview Palace after a brisk walk with my mum. The staff were very friendly and the chef had a great sense of humour. The staff were professional and adhering to the Covid guidelines. We ordered sandwiches which were made of the softest...bread and were extremely good value. The coffee was good also. We were not rushed even though they had a steady stream of customers. We will be visiting there again soon.

Two issues: if waiter is bringing food to your table, then why doesn't the waiter take...your order instead of making everyone queue inside to pay first. Makes no sense in this coronavirus era as there is no social distancing between the queueing people and those sitting inside the restaurant Voir le carte

I had heard good reports about Lakeview Palace so decided to take my mum here for a lunch. There is a large car park within the park about yards away from Lakeview. It’s obvious on arrival it’s a dog friendly restaurant as there were...people seated outside overlooking the lake with dogs and on entering there was a few there too. Orders are taken at the till cash only) Where you tell your table number.. service was good and very friendly. It wasn’t warm enough inside for us to take our coats off. The restaurant is decorated with autumn coloured plants, which looked lovely. Myself mum had a jacket with prawns which came with a beautiful fresh salad. Obviously having dogs inside they will bark...
