"We got here upon a suggestion from locals. No regrets! It’s a simple restaurant offering in one side one of the best pizza we ever had in the south of Italy. You can customise a lot, you can ask, as we did, pizza stesa bene … which is not much Neapolitan style but rather roman style, thin and crispy. I asked a bianca with alici a fine cottura (better! and was like having a crostino romano. As a starter we had two tarallo fritto, one with burrata and capocollo di martina franca that was SUPER! My wife had Tarallo and mozzarella plus parma ham, excellent as well (but mine was better . We had a primitivo red wine, almost 15 degrees, that improved substantially our happiness. The restaurant also serves buns and pucce with hamburgers… forget standard style, these are 100% home made a-z. We say it passing by but were too full to try. Hope next time. Price… insignificant really. Only for locals apparently, no tourists around. We’ll come again! Thanks for serving us with a smile that only in Salento you could receive"

"So it’s august and hot here of course. Apparently I needed to tick a box on the fork website to get an outside table. .we asked for one ..you know when someone is faking being helpful..yup anyway .. “Inside is air con” Sat in a hot room, near the kitchen, with air conditioning that couldn’t be improved for us.. Ordered some wine..yup that was hot too! Not sure they cared until h about that either really. We have been in the area all this week. This was the worst meal. Why? It’s trying very hard to be different and making a mess of it..trying to be different is great but it’s not successful. Risotto with raw prawns doesn’t work..the arborio was too stodgy. Raw prawns don’t work..both in texture and taste with the risotto..too much lemon ..again why? The steak was poor quality..bad choice from me but just fancied a steak and chips with primitivo and chips were soggy..(cooked in olive oil..wow..how new and exciting…and yet utter rubbish…but when I cook potatoes in olive oil they crisp up… Bread was excellent.. Had to sit in the car between courses and couldn’t wait to leave. 137 ish euros. Wish we had been at il bastione as we were yesterday..that was faultless. This isn’t."

"we were in the company of cousins and friends, and to make a beautiful figure I booked from the for Thursday a table for six adults and two seats for children. on the phone they tell me that there are two evening shifts, the first at and the other at we had two cars and when we arrived we immediately found parking for its wide outdoor space, even if dirt. This last point is not convenient for those who come with heels or have strollers like us. at the entrance we felt a strong smell of brace, for some it could be pleasant for others not. the staff welcomed us and accompanied us to the table. Fortunately the table was the one on the sides and not at the center of the external dehor. chosen by the managers who allowed us to keep the strollers so as not to be in the way of the waiters. the evening was very ventilated, but the dehor though outside was quite repaired. after about fifteen minutes we ordered. as appetizers we have taken: bruschetta (mozzarella fior di latte, tomato condito, mortadella and rucola,) (fried pizza with fillings: raw ham, mozzarella cherry and rocket; stracciatella, tomato schiattarisciato and capocollo) and frittini. de drink two beers, two bottles of water and a coca-cola. of appetizers only the fritters were not of my liking, the breasts were hard and the panzerotti did not have the classic fried gilding but were dark brown: burned. perfect waiting times. the six pizzas all came together. I took the pizza mortazza (with fior of milk, mortadella bologna, pistachio in two versions: cream and granella). My wife instead took pizza with fior di latte, dried tomatoes, burrata del casaro and capocollo di martina franca. exceptional pizzas, with high and pasty edge as we like. fresh ingredients and quality. our nuts have taken a delicious on the tips (buffalo mozzarella, san marzano tomato fillet, black pepper, basil and ricotta tips,) a DOC queen (pomodoro san marzano, fior di latte, basil, evo oil) and yellow (buffalo mozzarella, yellow datterino sauce, basil pesto, evo oil and fresh basil). friendly staff and with properly worn masks. spent a little less than a couple. restaurant saved among my favorites. recommended."

"ESPERIENZA UNICAMAI SUCCESSO IN 26 ANNI ! E’ ferragosto e abbiamo prenotato un tavolo per 6 persone per le 21.30. Ci presentiamo puntuali e la serata parte bene perché la location è molto bella. Ci portano al nostro tavolo ed è isolato in fondo alla tenuta e ci fanno sedere sulle delle panche. Ordiniamo subito antipasti e primi ed il bere, Acqua e vino arrivano con comodo, ovviamente senza i bicchieri per il vino, ma dato che siamo in vacanza non ci agitiamo. Chiediamo più volte di portarci i bicchieri per il vino ma solo dopo circa mezz’ora e ulteriore sollecito la ragazza ce li porta. Per gli antipasti, invece, abbiamo aspettato precisamente 2 ore, alle 23.30 sono arrivati, Qualità discreta, niente di eccezionale. Iniziamo a riderci su con i tavoli affianco che sono nella nostra stessa situazione o chi messo ancora peggio, alcuni demordono e decidono di andarsene dato che l’attesa era diventata assurda. Noi temerari restiamo e aspettiamo con ansia anche i primi che ci arrivano uno alla volta verso le 00.30. La cameriera sempre molto gentile, veniva al tavolo imbarazzata per la situazione e senza darci delle tempistiche ai nostri solleciti. Pasta scotta, porzioni a dir poco ridotte e ognuno che mangia da solo. La situazione è imbarazzante, non mi era mai successo niente di simile. Ma non è finita, andiamo alla cassa a pagare e anche lì l’attesa si fa lunga perché il pos non prende bene. Finalmente arriva il nostro turno e facciamo presente al proprietario delle problematiche della serata, il quale al posto di scusarsi ci risponde pure in modo cafone che il grigliatore si era messo in malattia ed ha dovuto mettere al lavoro suo padre 80 enne. Sarebbe stato intelligente da parte sua cancellare alcune prenotazioni se non era in grado di gestirle. Mi sarei aspettato che almeno venisse al tavolo a scusarsi per l’attesa ma ha sempre mandato la sua cameriera a metterci la faccia, inoltre non ci ha scontato nemmeno un centesimo. UN FERRAGOSTO INDIMENTICABILE, NON METTETECI PIEDE."

"local Salento, located in a small alley, courteous staff but, slow in service and a little confused in the comande. Menù, purely Apulian with traditional dishes, the great pugliese appetizer with small quite good goats but the eggplant of cold eggplants, good instead the swordfish carpaccio with jam and frittini. excellent pici with parmesan cream served in the characteristic form. while the linguini to the ricci insapori and with very little curl. ears at the top of the turnip with anchovies not commentary, second fried of normal calamari, while the carpaccio squid calamari well grilled, with contour of potatoes, served cold wing. sweet, good bread with English cream. prices in the norm, you could however improve in the goto of some dishes, and painful note the dishes must be served all together and not to spicy. ?"
