"I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday evening. The staff were lovely, and the food was fantastic, especially the great two-course special for just £13.00. Since I only live 25 minutes away, I will definitely be coming back. My only minor complaint was the £11.00 price for a glass of wine, but my wife said it was very nice—though I was the one paying... again! Overall, it was a great dining experience. Service: Dine in, Meal type: Dinner."

What a lovely restaurant! The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. I dined in for dinner, and I would estimate the price per person to be around £30-40. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5. Highly recommend!

"we have eaten two cheeky teenage boys in white horse inn last month. we couldn't have received a warmer greeting. Although the owners were busy john and dawn on Saturday night, the owners left to explain the menu and make sure we feel comfortable. there were logs on the fire and an amazing atmosphere with the locals at the bar that makes the evening even more entertaining. the kitchen was great to get our meals in time (not always the case at a busy weekend in pubs) and the standard of the food was amazing. kudos an den koch! this is not pubic food it is high class restaurant standard. her gravure becomes amazing reviews and quite right. do not miss this place! beautiful ride there, amazing hospitality and first class restaurant! highly recommended!"

"First visit here after lots of recommendations. The pub and restaurant are beautiful a traditional pub married with the contemporary. However, we had Sunday roasts sirloin. Given the Michelin star we expected something special for £30. The meat was full of fat. The vegetables were bland. The gravy too thin to taste. The roast potatoes were nice and the Yorkshire pudding crispy. I’ve eaten Sunday lunch all over the place and this didn’t make the top 50. Dessert sounded nice but it was laced with star anise and not pleasant. By the time we added drinks we got a bill for £270 including £30 service charge. The service was okay but the waitresses did the basics certainly not worth £30. Won’t be rushing back."

"here for lunch. I had jacket kartoffel and crowning huh, best I had in a long time, much huh and very tasty. marks and spencers take to knowledge. husband had broccoli and stilton suppe and sandwich, good filling in sandwich. very busy, so one is waiting, no problem at all. star was missing when I thought that tables would be a little close together in Covid times."

"I had a short break with my sister and stayed for a couple of nights. The B B, restaurants in the area were all wonderful. The hosts at the B B were superb and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. The breakfast was really delicious with fresh fruits, granola and croissants and pastries. The garden terrace is lovely at the side of the cafe. Rooms: The room had good facilities, toiletries, nice views and is comfortable. It was nice eating breakfast outside on the garden terrace. Nearby activities: Helmsley has enough quirky shops to explore over a day or two Walkability: There are many things within walking distance the walled garden, the castle and Helmsley outdoor pool. Food drinks: There are some good restaurants in the area which we booked in advance. The Bantram and the Trattoria did good food. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great view"

"We 've eaten here on numerous occasions and really enjoyed our meals/cakes. Today was a mixed bag. OH had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon which he pronounced delicious and beautifully cooked. I however made the mistake of ordering the Pork Belly sandwich. It arrived looking very appealing with a lovely piece of crisp cracking on the side. Inside however, the thick slab of pork belly was less appetising. Half was soft, flabby fat which I found impossible to eat. The mayonnaise only increased the fattiness and made the bread unpleasantly greasy so in the end, a few mouthfuls of pork and some small gherkins proved to be an expensive 'meal '. Yes I know I should 've said something at the time but the waitress didn 't ask why I 'd left most of my lunch and the place was too busy for a conversation. Next time I 'll order something different. I 'll just add that the Sunday roast lunches coming out looked amazing"
