Decided to try La Scala on Thursday night because all my regular haunts were booked solid, Glad I took a chance because we both loved our meal. My porchetta (rolled pork) was delicious! Moist pork with a yummy crunchy crackling on the outside and a...bit of gravy on the side. The lamb chops were tender and perfectly seasoned. Both were cooked in the wood oven (you can see it and the kitchen from the main dining area). We chose a Langhe Nebbiolo from the extensive wine list and it all just worked. The waiter/head waiter spoke perfect English and was very nice. Don't let the lack of reviews on Trip Advisor scare you away. Stuttgart has a lot of average Italian places (and some really good one)...

The restaurant is on the second floor of a back-alley not easy to find and because of that probably less frequented. It offers classic Italian dishes with very innovative variations. The food is not only creative but also delicious! The service is caring and...typically Italian-friendly. Our waiter went out of his way to accommodate some special dietary needs that we had. The flaws are little: The ambience of the only retaurant room could use some improvement.
