Banquise 2000 Col De La Madeleine

Après avoir parcouru le col de la Madeleine, nous avons dégusté une tarte tatin fantastique et une tarte aux myrtilles, tout simplement brillantes !

C'était une super expérience. La meilleure poutine que nous avons eue et avec différents choix de garnitures la rend encore meilleure. Le personnel pourrait être plus sympathique.

Aucune attention particulière envers les clients, attendre longtemps pour passer une commande, puis les boissons chaudes arrivent froides et il faut se rendre à la caisse pour ne jamais payer.

Avec une poutine classique, ils ne peuvent pas se tromper. Il y a de nombreux parfums à goûter. Mon partenaire recommande la poutine La B.O.M., qui contient du speck merguez et du fromage végétal. This restaurant is rather hard to get to - there is only one piste where you have to ski uphill, and in the end it was absolutely not worth it. I took a plate called Berthoud which consists of a sausage and potatoes baked under cheese. The sausage was from very poor quality meat and the potatoes were floating in a pool of water. For dessert I took a walnut cake which they for some reason served very hot and as a result it was unedible. I also asked for a coffee which they forgot to bring. What else? The service is very slow and the place is not cheap at all.

Just spent a long weekend in Montreal. I wanted authentic Montreal Poutine. After discussing poutine at length, with the bartender at the hotel I was staying at, he suggested La Banquise. Well I google mapped it and decided it was too far to walk so...I grabbed a cab. Cabbie knew exactly where to take me. If you like a loud, vibrant, funky, local joint. La Banquise it the place to go for authentic poutine. I had traditional poutine (no extra toppings) just fries, curds and sauce, and I washed it all down with a in-house beer! It was amazing! I could only finish half of a regular order, very very filling. (And not for someone counting calories). But I did walk it off wandering around another...

La Banquise sits at the Col de la Madeleine, a legendary Tour de France pass in the French Alps south of Albertville. The ride from La Léchère by bicycle or motorcycle is magical and is on everyone's lists of Alpine passes to visit. The intrepid...(or fit traveler will find his climb rewarded by spectacular views of snow capped peaks in all directions from the 2000 meter vantage point. Motorcyclists and bicyclists gather at the summit to enjoy the views and take a well deserved break. One of the rewards of making it to the top is lunch at La Banquise.
