We were greeted initially by a very pleasant waiter that could not speak or understand english but was very eager to help he reminded me of Manuel from Fawlty towers . Our order was taken by a very rude what appeared to be head waiter after which my meal appeared just plonked in front of me no smile no eye contact and no meal for my partner. We waited 15 minutes then had to ask where the other meal was for it to arrive 5 minutes later nearly landing in my partners lap it was thrown down so hard on table. At no point did anyone ask if our meals were satisfactory or any other drinks offered even though our glasses had been empty for nearly an hour !! Our meals were only passable nothing special and the whole experience very disappointing . We were not asked if we would like dessert and had to wait about half an hour to get the attention of the waiter for the bill which he again chucked on the table the one and only time he had eye contact or said one word was when he collected the money probably expecting a tip which he definitely did not deserve or receive. All in all a terrible experience for our first visit to what we hoped was going to be a friendly typically Spanish little town spoilt by one very rude Spanish waiter who quite obviously did not like English people in his restaurant as all the other customers appeared to be Spanish and were receiving far far better courteous service. Fortunately we chalked it down to experience and visited a rival hotel two nights later with excellent service ."

Great food, good prices Also always open which is great out of season. I prefer to sit on the right hand side on the road than rather than in the actual hotel.

Went there for late lunch with family. Terrace directly by the sea. Had fish and salad. Clean place, good service, lovely fresh environment, and friendly attentive staff.

Very cordial reception and care. Good accomodation. All needs met. Diving base withion walking distance. Wonderful beach and interesting history. Mountain climbing within 1 hiour's drive. Old town atmosphere.

Por un año, el restaurante va a empeorar, su menú ha disminuido mucho eliminando platos típicos de antes, como la ensalada tropical, también han quitado las raciones, es triste ver cómo se está decayendo y si continúa con la clientela es por la fuerza de la costumbre hasta que la gente se cansa. No es barato, y el lugar no es escándalo, si fue exitoso fue porque tenía todo lo que estás perdiendo ahora. Mal augurio le vaticino.

I visited here after a day at the beach with family. When initially looking at the menu it seemed overpriced,I don’t thing a plate of calamari should ever cost 25€! However the waiter was helpful and recommended the mixed fried fish plate (the small size is more than ample for 4-6ppl) we also ordered a salad and some potatoes. The fish plate was both generous and delicious,one of the best I’ve had. I have since looked at the receipt,which i of course should have looked at before paying and have realized we were charged 15€ for a plate of fries,they were put on the receipt as another item. Siempre que vamos a calahonda comemos aquí. Para nosotros es de los mejores sitios donde comer. Las raciones son abundantes,los precios son buenos y para todo lo que estoy leyendo...siempre tenemos que reservar porque está lleno a la hora de comer. El pescado es fresco,los arroces super buenos y grandísimos. postres caseros,ensaladas de la huerta de la tierra(Motril)...en calahonda no hay un sitio mejor y hemos estado en todos.
