"I ate here with colleagues from work, and while the environment was nice, I thought the food was fairly average. To start, this restaurant is upstairs in a large, wooden building. The restaurant setting is very nice, and there is a door that leads onto...a balcony and you can look down on the large open area before; which is really a pretty cool view. The restaurant fancies itself as a “wine restaurant”, so they offer more wine then beer, which is good with me. We sampled a number of the wines and there are certainly some good ones to be had. As far as the meal, I had steak with Spaetzle. The steak was okay, but I would certainly not order it again. Granted, steak in the US is typically better than steak in Germany, but this one was average at best. The side dishes were all good. In general, it is a nice place, nice setting, but the food was average … not good, not bad. Bottom line is there are a lot of great places to eat in Stuttgart and I am not going to rush back to this restaurant."

"Advantages: My partner and I were visiting NRW at B B Hotel. The restaurant was warmly recommended to us, but we were both dissatisfied. Especially when the waiter arrived shortly after 9 p.m. and then we both ordered a fanta, and this restaurant was an orange juice with sprout. That didn't taste us both. Then we ordered spaghetti carbonara and chicken breast and potatoes. The noodles were much too al dente and very oversalted. The meat, on the other hand, was very delicious and the sauce is a matter of taste. However, it was ordered without vegetables and there came as the answer “before vegetables need ch”. So it was with vegetables, which was not eaten, because this was not ordered. The waiter wasn't unfriendly but also not friendly and seemed very uninterested. That's why we didn't give a tip and you noticed that he didn't find it so great. I think it's a matter of taste and it could be that the waiter might have had a bad day or the evening was close. "Sehr ungewöhnlicher Ort. Vereinsgaststätte mit nicht sehr einladender äußeren Optik. Innen warm und gemütlich. Sonntag, 18.00 Uhr zu 2/3 der Tische besetzt. Sehr flottes und aufmerksames Personal. Das Essen, 1x Vorspeise kalt, 2x überbackenes giros und 1x Retsina-Teller... Alles voll lecker und völlig genug. Sehr empfehlenswert..."

"the food was great! especially the roasted potato with speck and 3 roasted eggs. I would also recommend the unicorn salad with maul pockets. in the winery the atmosphere is magical. there is a taste of another time since it is 735 years old. it's a bit expensive, but it's worth it."

"The place is quite nice from the interior decorating standpoint, certainly not "posh", but full of knick-knacks and interesting decoration (like the arms "coming out of the wall", holding a lamp). They have several types of beer on tap. We had a company dinner there,...with some Pizza to start things off and then a main course. I had the "Letzte Instanz" Rump Steak, which came cooked to perfection (rare). The meat was exceptional, a quality you rarely get in Germany. The waiter was happy to replace the fries with spinach as well. Pricing was more than ok, I would recommend this place to anyone not expecting a very formal environment. The only negative thing about the restaurant is the men's room, which is completely run down, is quite smelly and has a grimy atmosphere about it."
