My wife, a vegetarian, and I often struggle to find a restaurant that can accommodate both of our needs without just offering a 'token' option. However, this was not an issue here as the vegetarian options were wide and varied, with no compromise on flavor. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the chef even took the time to come and ask if we were enjoying our meal. Highly recommended for a fantastic meal and a wonderful dining experience. It is clear that the chef has a great understanding of world cuisine."

We went for a mid-week breakfast and it was a really nice chilled atmosphere and the food was fab! Also loved all the quirky decor and the little trinkets on sale

I had the Flash Burger and enjoyed it. The unusual mix of ingredients worked surprisingly well. The establishment of the bistro gives the kindness of the staff good.

It's lovely here. So cosy, friendly and seeing so much art by local artists warms me straight through. Also love the opportunity to buy jewellery, art prints, handmade crafts while enjoying a lush cup of generously large tea. Win.

This independent cafe bistro has a super relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious, although we didn't have the courage to try the Flash Burger - maybe next time! The service was excellent and we had a lovely lunch. The price per person was between £10-20. Overall, we highly recommend trying their burgers.

This restaurant is a complete vibe, from the food and staff to the decor and music. The service was top-notch and the atmosphere was fantastic. I highly recommend trying the Full English Breakfast, and for vegetarians, their vegetarian menu is excellent. Overall, a great place for breakfast with prices ranging from £1-10 per person.

Probably the best place in the city centre to get a cooked English breakfast that is made with care and quality ingredients. Taste was superb. The hash potatoes were exceptionally good with mild hints of flavour. The location is on a quiet street just behind the main shopping centre and it's very calming. Gift shop also inside with local artisan products. Very friendly staff and much cleanliness. Highly recommended

I'm sad that this place is closing today, it one of my favourite places to eat and their pancakes are my favourite payday treat. But regrettably after many successful years, they're closing up for good, but they're not going quietly into the night. They have a full house of satisfied customers, regulars like me and more likely one or two friends that they made along the way. It's good food, a great atmosphere and one or two teary eyes in the house. So thank you James Cafe Bistro, it's been excellent.
