Have been here a few times. For Breakfast I always get the eggs benedict that come with deep fried potatoes. For dinner I got the scallops for starters and lobster for main. The ribs are also delicious!

Where to begin? The eggs were cold, the avocado looked bruised and blackened, there was only one piece of toast for two avocado halves and eggs, and my Avocado Benedict had just one thin, measly strip of bacon in the middle.

Weekends are made for relaxation and doing things that I love in life, and what better way to spend it than enjoying brunch with family. It sure has been a while since my last visit to Jackson and Rye, and I remember my first visit with Wilkes when they first opened where we were both rather fascinated with the slab bacon ! Breakfast/brunch is a beautiful thing. It’s the time of day when everything starts anew but most importantly, that daily calorie count. For another day, you get to allocate those precious 2,000/2,500 cals as you see fit without guilt according to some scientist much smarter than I. But today, I got a bit too excited…probably 2,000 cals too excited…but a Jackson and Rye brunch will do that to ya.

Stumbling around central London, I bumped in to Jackson Rye on Wardour Street. Promising egg dishes and hand drip coffee, this sounded like what I was needing to set me up for the day ahead. A smart, informal interior is made to feel bustling and busy by a whirring staff team moving at double speed. This leads to the odd mistake and the sense of everything being rushed, but I can see the appeal.
