Irene - Menu

Amazing value set menu, with a great variety of choices. Nice location overlooking the harbour. Friendly service from the waitress. Sole was a little over cooked but other that that really good food.

had the lunch time menu , all starters were fish , but they did me a pasta dish as a favour , {I thought it looked like tuna and tasted like tuna but ok , pork loin very nice but veg was cold ice cream...to follow , cant go wrong with that

Delicious set menu every time we visit 3 courses, drinks and all for less than £20 pp. On the front but on a raised terrace so on a hot night, this gets a super breeze. Service excellent and we always go back. Definitely recommended...for either the set menu or extensive al la carte both great.

We chose the menu of the day.It was 14 euros for a 3 course meal including a glass of wine.The choice was excellent Our starters were salt cod salad with a fruit commit and my husbands zarzuela he said was to die for We chose...swordfish which was generously sized and cooked beautifully..Deserts were also delicious and varied. We plan to return!

All the reviews regarding the male waiter/owner being grumpy, could not be anymore accurate.. I ordered carbonara and my partner ordered bolognese, carbonara was good just missing some herbs/flavouring, was a bit bland. My partner reports his was nice. Food did take a long time...to come out, we were the only English couple outside and we first to arrive, yet the last ones to get our food, even groups were quicker..... Overall was an average experience, waitress with red hair was pleasant, shame the waiter couldn’t smile a bit more, comes across very rude!

Returned here as visited a couple of years ago and enjoyed it then, I'm pleased to say that this is still a most pleasant place to eat with lovely views over the harbour with the added benefit of a cool breeze too as you are...situated above the other restaurants below. We ate here several times this year trying a variety of dishes but the best value has to be a choice from the specials' menu which offers a a selection of starters, main course, dessert, bottle of wine or water and bread butter-all for 19 euros. Given the quality of the food this represents superb value and well worth a visit!

We went to Es Castell unprepared all the waterside restaurants were booked up. After wandering around getting frustrated we chose Irene as it had a free table. As per the other reviews, the owner is really unfriendly not even bothering to explain the menu or...engage with the kids. However what we ordered was outstanding. For starter we had deep fried Camembert in a berry sauce and smoked salmon with mango and avocado. For main my wife had the monk fish and I the Talbot. Even the kids chicken in bread crumbs was really tasty. Everything was so fresh and well prepared. If you can get passed the service, this is well worth a visit.

I wrote a 5 star review on our visit to this restaurant almost exactly 12 months ago, sadly I can't do the same this time. It's still very busy and this shows in the attitude of the staff and unfortunately the quality of the food....The fixed price menu looks to be great value and the avocado and prawn starter was delicious but that's where the good stuff ended. My wife's pork dish was seriously undercooked, in fact raw in places and my salmon was very average. The undercooked pork was sent back practically untouched but no adjustment to the bill was offered and it became impossible to attract the attention of the staff. Disappointing return visit to Irene.

Went here for lunch and really enjoyed it. The zarzuela was really rich and flavoursome with plenty of cockles and muscles. My friend and I both had that to start.. but also spotted a lovely goats cheese starter on a big pile of roasted Mediterranean...veg. Mains were equally as delicious. We both had fish...cooked perfectly.. and this cane with the day's vegetables which were superb. Tempura courgettes and some gorgeous potatoes cooked in wine and stock. We couldn't fit in a dessert but they all looked amazing as they came out to other diners. Great view, very busy, but still had good service even though they were flat out. Excellent value at 13 euros including a glass of vino or soft drink...
