"We arrived early to visit the nearby sculpture park, the Giardino dei Tarocchi. The restaurant was quite hard to find, tucked at the back of an inner courtyard parking lot and not well signed. It was not open for service when we arrived. Never the less we were seated and served coffee and chilled mineral water, and as soon as the kitchen was ready, our orders were taken, about 40 minutes before the scheduled opening at 1245 hrs. The menu was quite extensive, (with a convenient English language version) with the traditional central Italian cuisine and featuring wild boar (cinghiale) in a variety of dishes. We sampled the olive all 'ascolana (olives stuffed with meat, coated with bread crumbs and deep fried), a regional specialty. I had grilled young pork, (the crackling was perfect) and my wife had a very flavorsome and generous dish of grilled chicken. We added a dish of traditional Italian grilled vegetables (egg plant, peppers and zucchini) and some delightful French fries (cooked in very clean and sweet oil) for a very satisfying and tasty lunch. Finally we were tempted by Crema Catalana , the Catalan version of creme brulee. The flan mix was covered with a generous layer of raw sugar, doused with a liquor I didn 't identify, then set on fire at our table, where it happily burned for about five minutes, caramelizing the sugar topping. The single serving was more than enough for two! Altogether a delightful experience. This is the type of restaurant I always seek, but so often I am disappointed to end up in a crass ersatz tourist trap. Not this time. The service was polite and prompt. Everything was very tasty. The variety was impressive, the components fresh and appealing, the presentation unpretentious. This is the real thing, you feel you are eating in Momma 's farm kitchen. Not fine dining, but the best of country cuisine in an homely setting. Select your meal carefully and take your time. I wish I had an excuse to go back there."

One of the best places if you go for the traditional, simple and tasty farmers' cooking of an Italian Trattoria in the Maremma. Like Fiori di Zucca. Nothing sophisticated, just a most comfortable environment and great meals.

A family-run local restaurant, with a pleasant outside terrace, in a small hamlet, near Giardino dei Tarocchi. We had a late lunch there with other clients mostly local working people. Good freshly cooked simple dishes, generous portions.

We were on our way to see the Giardino dei Tarocchi and nearby found this great trattoria. My husband had cinghiale alle cacciatore and I had agnello alla gligliata, both which we loved. The house wine was very fresh and satisfying. The waitstaff were all very personable and helpful. The antipasto misto was a good mix of satisfying antipasti. Voir le carte

Simple, a bit bland but totally genuine. Salsiccia alla griglia particularly good. House red wine works well with the cooking. Cinghiale alle cacciatore, crostini, agnello alla grigilia all fine but no comparison to Guido at Magliano for example. We didn't try any of the pasta which we regreted as we saw it go by; we'd definitely go back to try the pasta. Service excellent and always there, very friendly, chatty a really pleasant lunch.

We followed the sign s to this place, thinking that it was going to be good. We could see the women in the kitchen cooking from bought food, so heating up. I ordered a Pesto di pomodoro and Mandorle, though it was Pesto from a jar and two cherry tomatoes. an Absolute fraus. we paid and left. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy the atmosphere was horrible and sad, and way over priced. you can tell that the owners are more focused on ripping off customers rather than cooking some fresh good food

Finding places like Il Tortello is what makes travel so much fun. We drove through Pescia Fiorentina before lunch and stopped to look around. We came back for lunch and were glad that we did. The tagliatelle with Ragu Al chiangale was one of the best plates of pasta that I have ever had (and I’ve eaten a LOT of pasta. The grilled radicchio was a great contorni. We gambled on the rusticiana (translate said it was rotisserie but it was really spare ribs); no matter, it was delicious. We overordered and overate….the portions are generous. If you’re in Capalbio or nearby, take the drive. You’ll thank me. Voir le carte

There is an old advertising saying, you can 't eat atmosphere , and it would apply here to il Tortello. But the beauty is, you can, and will want to return to eat at this simple, local gem of a restaurant. The speciality here is their pasta, offering a selection you can choose from, and then what type of 'topping ' aka ragu, pomodoro, etc, you would like. Get the house wine, a simple in season starter, chase it with one of their pastas, and if you have room (the proportions are huge! , a nice dessert. Your eyes will not believe how much you can eat, for so little. Suggestion: make a reso, be polite, and even if you don 't speak a lick of Italian, say grazie as much as you can. You will be ve...

Nestled on a quaint village square il Tortello is an institution and deservedly so. It brimmed and bustled with locals savoring a rustic Tuscan cuisine of yore. Simple to a T, paper covers tables, wine is from a barrel and hearty dishes are served brusquely. It is a happy place. My partner knew il tortello of old. It's sole and star dish back then was its truly great tortellini which I tried with a delicious sugo of wild boar. It's menu has diversified substantially over the intervening years. My partner tried the Picci with ricotta and courgette. Both pastas were delicious if a tad cold forgivable on a hot August night. Our overly charred spare pork ribs disappointed. Bitter boiled chicory...

"Very bad. I rarely take the thrill of writing a review for a restaurant. I only do it when I was so good that I felt the need to share it with my neighbor, that is when I remain very disappointed. Unfortunately, in the case of the Resort Capalbio (Restaurant Casale New experience has been worthy of the worst horror films and, even the attenuator of the day of August, cannot justify such a poor service. Let's start with the start: My wife and I decide to take two shrimp cocktails (6 euro cad. . We served a dish with 3 shrimps (CONTATI! and a salad leaf. It looked like one of those entrées that are brought to chic premises as a welcome tribute to customers. I was so flattened by the dish that when the waiter asked me “all right?” I managed to answer only with a “yes, thank you!”, almost as if I had never understood how it was a “real” shrimp cocktail. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture, but please trust me. As we first ordered a lasagna of vegetables (15 € so dry and of good taste that the precotta of PRIX would make a figurone in comparison. My son and I took pici (15€ with a ragout of fish (it seems spigola that were tasty but very heavy: they drank in the oil. Unfortunately, heaviness was the least of the defects of the dish; In fact, in my life there was a fairly short human hair (barba or a lashe, in that of my son an insect (see photo). In addition, 14 euros for two balls of ice cream also packaged in Capri. Finally, the wine we had ordered, from the list of wines 25 € had been counted as a wine from 30 €. I realize that working in Ferragosto is not the maximum but I believe that this treatment is unacceptable."
