"the cilentana is a small restaurant in lustra cilento. at this moment is probably the best trattoria in the area ranging from agropolis to a casalvelino. This is a family-run place, so you can't expect anything particularly sought after from a stylistic point of view. However, the cilentana has a very remarkable strength: The kitchen. Let's see a little more in detail: local service the local is small but well-kept, although a little bit tasted. the decor shows good goto, although it is not for sure that the place is noticed. the service, as said, is familiar and a little slow. However, the two owners are friendly and can make you feel at ease. kitchen price the kitchen is the strong piece of the restaurant. the peculiarity is the alternation between dishes of the Cilentana tradition and bell (parmigiana, fusilli, cavatielli, potato range, aubergines stuffed, fried soup) and creations of the cook (ceci with mushrooms and sausage, parmigiana of anchovies, parmigiana of onions, ravioli with buffalo, pumpkin, beans). if traditional dishes are always masterfully interpreted, it is in the autonomous creations that resides the greatest interest of the gourmet. the parmigiana of onions, in particular, is an authentic delicacy. a mention also for pizzas, always excellent. at a kitchen already of excellent level (probably the best in the area) combine really competitive prices. It is really difficult to get to pay more than twenty euros, even in consideration of the really generous courses. synthesis to conclude, the cilentana combines low prices to a very high quality. with a few little attention on the service and a more cared dehor can easily ambition the maximum of the votes in its category (tractors/agriturisms), and even at good scores as restaurant tout court. vote:"

"What a beautifully rustic and authentic little gem. We stopped on the road down to southern Italy for a quick snack. We ended up with freshly baked bread rolls, locally made buffalo mozarella (which was sublime in its taste and freshness) and some tuna bonito and a jar of sundried tomatoes. We sat on a little wooden table on the veranda overlooking the fields, farms and hills. How perfect and utterly italiano authentic just simple and divine. The lady who runs it was so lovely and helpful and the place was spotless. Good local produce with a wonderful cheese and meats selection at a good price well worth a pitt stop."

"Stayed at La Civetta (small hotel) for nights in September and used the restaurant on the last night. It seems to only open on weekends but it's definitely worth the wait. The food was so enjoyable (and the stay too) that my mate...Johnny and I wished we were staying longer in Agropoli. The traditional pizza (cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven) is melt-in-the-mouth and we also enjoyed the beef braised in Aglianico wine and the ravioli too. The home-made tiramisu dessert was F.A.B! There's plenty of advice on what local wines to choose. We enjoyed a bottle of Aglianico Del Vulture from the Basilicata region, one of Italy's finest red wines. The restaurant is a family run affair with the matriarch in charge of the cooking (behind the scenes) so the food really is just as Mamma used to make The service was very friendly and attentive. Can't fault this restaurant. If you're staying in or around Agropoli, it's worth a minute journey to the top of the hill where you'll find La Civetta. (Put Via Madonna Del Carmine into your SatNav, go under the railway bridge, turn right at the small roundabout and almost immediately after turn left following signs)."
