Haus Hamacher - Carte

On a business trip to the Netherlands and a couple of miles over the border and well worth a visit. Lovely food and great beer as well. Joio mas draw!

I have eaten at this restaurant over the course of five years countless times. The quality of the food is always superb. The staff always helpful and friendly. I can't recommend it enough.

We had a pleasant dinner here. Good german food and beer. Do not expect any special dishes, here you find a large variety of ‘schnitzel mit pommes und salad ‘ but of very good quality. I also had an excellent kartoffel suppe! Voir le carte

We absolutely recommend Haus Hamacher. The food menu is outstanding and typically has a great selection of seasonal items (i.e. Asparagus and game). On a nice day, a stroll around the pond outside is great too. This restaurant gets busy on the weekends and even...Sunday. A true testimony to the quality of food served.

Good, extensive menu in multiple languages, spacious seating on large terraces or indoors. Next door to an outdoor pool, walking paths and mini-golf. Plenty of parking. Good service. Reasonable prices. Good, traditional German food and other cuisines available, or just dessert and coffee. Relaxed...atmosphere. We will return.

Stopped in one Sunday evening, not knowing reservations were required, but the staff found room for us inside one of the spacious dining rooms. The staff are very accommodating and the food is wonderful. Prices are reasonable and there are a number of attractions nearby,...including putty putting and a water slide, to make this a family weekend destination. Will definitely be going back. I cannot vouch for this restaurant nowadays; all I can say is, when we were living in Brunssum between and this was our go-to' choice when we wanted somewhere relaxing and close to home. The food was always fantastic (they used to do...a wonderful steak with bearnaise sauce) and the atmosphere was always excellent. We were well entertained one Christmas time, when a candle decoration on the bar set fire to a small garland hanging above the bar fortunately, very quickly extinguished but enlivened the mood even further! Nice to see that it is still going strong! Danke schoen!!

Haus Hamacher is not located at the main road of Gangelt, but finding it via the public open air public-pool is easy. The interior is simple and tweedy, however comfortable and sufficient. On the menu one will find a fair choice of German Schnitzel cuisine,...but also some Steak and local dishes. Especially for the latter Rheinischer Sauerbraten with vegetables and Spaetzle is recommended. At the time of the visit they also had white asparagus from the region on a separate menu on offer. The asparagus was delicious, even though the sauce hollandaise was a ready-made product. For my mother's birthday I had made a reservation for Saturday night at When we arrived at the reserved date and time, we were told that the restaurant was fully booked. When I explained we had made reservations for They looked at...me and said, no that was My husband and sister were with me at the time I initially made the reservation by phone for I do understand that mistakes can be made, we are human after all. But what really got me, is that instead of finding a solution to accommodate us, they turned it around and acted as if we were the ones that messed up.
