My friends and I have been visiting Gurkha Used Village for years, and we’ve never had a bad meal there. The staff is always friendly and polite, going above and beyond to ensure a great experience. The food is incredibly delicious and full of flavor, with plenty of options for everyone.

The food was average and slightly disappointing. The starters came out lovely and hot and tasted fine, however the main dishes were a complete dissapppointment. The sauces for the curry were tasteless and almost watery. I usually hear very good things about Gurka village and have been before when it hasnt been like this. Obviously having a bad day, or perhaps a change of chef has occured. I wouldnt hurry back at the current state. Voir le carte

I have dined at Gurkha Village numerous times, despite it being quite a distance from my home, and I've consistently enjoyed excellent curry. The restaurant seems to be shifting towards offering more authentic Nepali dishes, which is a refreshing change from the standard Indian options available almost everywhere. Out of the three Nepali restaurants in Oxford, this one stands out as the best. The service is generally good, although some improvement could be made in the attention given after the meal. One of the highlights is the layout, which is fantastic, featuring patio doors that open onto a peaceful veranda.

gurkha village is a long restaurant near oxford. the employees are very respectful and attentive to the needs. the service time was very good. while the food was not really typical nepali, as the Nepalese nutrition in the usually consists only of a meal dhal lenses) bhat reis) takari cured vegetables. However, the meal times are generally very good and are quite large in portions. most of our meal times were a good quality except the Nan-Brot. I think the management could introduce some new meal times to the menu and have specials on a blackboard somewhere daily. Otherwise, it is one of the few Indian restaurants in the opposite of oxford that are worth visiting.

Although the food does not fully reflect a traditional Nepali diet—which typically consists of just three main dishes: dal (lentils), bhat (rice), and tarkari (curried vegetables)—the meals are generally quite good, with generous portion sizes. Most of our dishes were of high quality, but the naan bread could use some improvement. I believe the management could enhance the dining experience by introducing new menu items and featuring daily specials on a blackboard.
