"I definitely felt the need to write a review for my stay at Gunmakers, since there are so few that actually reference the lodging provided (most just focused on the pub side of the business). I stayed here on two different instances in September 2023, before heading up north to hike Hadrian's Wall, and again upon my return to London, before flying back home. Overall, both stays were very nice. I stayed in the same room both times, on the top floor. While the views out the window weren't anything special, the room overall was quite comfortable. For meals, if you choose to eat at Gunmakers, you can either go down to the pub or you can call down to place an order and they'll deliver it to your room. The location was perfect, on a quiet side street and well priced for being in Marylebone. There are a couple rail stations that are with easy walking distance. Otherwise, several of the city's landmarks are within easy walking distance, if you're not in a rush, including The British Museum, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the London Eye. The only thing that was a bit awkward was going to bar and explaining you're there to check in for lodging and not there for food/drink, especially if it's during a busy time for the pub. It might be worth looking into an alternative way to handle this side of the business, but still, it was overall a fairly easy process. Checking out was much smoother all you need to do is drop your room key in a dropbox as you're leaving the building. Overall, I would certainly stay here again the next time I'm in London."

We took over the bar downstairs for a fabulous reunion gathering of parents, children, and grandchildren. We had a super time with tip top service and support. Next time we are bringing our dog for 10% discount.

What a fantastic pub in terms of friendly team food beer champagne and atmosphere. Friends stayed and were completely looked after and described excellent rooms. Dog friendly too with discount. Veggie food available. It’s just off the high street. On Sundays Marylebone market is on the doorstep too. Clean toilets. Quiz nights on offer. TV for sport. Music reaches across all tastes. Outstanding pub.

2 night stay. Lovely friendly hotel.we stayed on the third floor and there was construction work going on outside but it did not ruin our stay. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and drinks at Gunmakers were reasonably priced. The only thing I noted was there was no mirror in the bedroom which made it difficult to put make up/dry your hair. Would recommend and return

Beautifully air conditioned rooms on one of the hottest days of the year! Very comfy beds and attractive decor. Very clean and quiet (we were on the top floor). Great shower, fluffy towels, shampoo etc provided. Friendly welcome our bags were looked after until we were able to check in and welcome pack talked through when personally shown to our room. Quiet street (at the weekend) just off Marylebone High Street, with several nearby discounted breakfast options. Farmer's market on Sunday morning just outside! As well as the local high street and lots of eating and drinking options, handy for Baker Street tube, Regents Park/Zoo, Madame Tussauds. Voir le carte

We recently stayed at the Gunmakers for a weekend and it’s safe to say we will definitely be back ! A lovely little pub in a great location, near Oxford street shops and attractions within short walking distance which was ideal for us. We arrived early and were greeted by a very nice staff member who stored our luggage until our room was ready, whilst we were gone for the day. Our room was very clean and even when the pub was busy was nice and quiet. We had lunch the next day which was nice the steak sandwich in particular All the staff are very friendly and pleasant and even when busy very attentive . Although we didn’t bring ours this time the 10% doggy discount Is a great idea Overall gre...

Reports from various sources, including Trip Advisor, were reasonably positive so it was a huge surprise to find that we were virtually the only customers between 12.15 and 1.45pm for a mid-week lunch. The large bar and eating areas felt underused and lacked atmosphere but the barmaid tried her best to look after us. The lunch menu was very limited and offered boring choices. I asked about the sourcing and type of fish used in the fish and chips (thinking cod or haddock). Our friendly barmaid asked the kitchen who replied white flaky fish from Vietnam. This certainly did not appeal so I opted for the steak pudding, chips and mushy peas. At least it arrived hot and with an extra jug of gravy...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
