"Absolutely **** amazing. I had the cod and chips special. The skinless fillet of cod was fresh as it gets and perfectly cooked in the best crispy beer batter I have every tasted. The chips were supremly cooked to perfection in real beef dripping. The perfect garden peas and tartare sauce were the icing on the cake. The price...well obviously was also perfect. You put the supposed best take away in southwold to shame for the same price. I challenge any restaurant or take away to produce such brilliant meals for the same price......not a chance. Great for a reviving coffee, panini and warm scone. Staff welcoming, relaxing space for peaceful refreshments and interesting local arts and crafts. Bonus crafts and gifts space what a find. Finally some lovely local corn ears too. Local wines, deli, butcher and selection of delicious baked goods. Felt inspired, refreshed and welcomed. Service: Dine in Voir le carte

We arrive at 11.29 and we’re told we couldn’t have breakfast as it finished at 11.30. But we couldn’t have lunch either as that did not start until 12. Had we not spent ten minutes and £10 browsing in the shop we would have been able to be in time for breakfast. This half an hour where you can only order cakes seems ridiculous . We came out for a substantial meal and there was no flexibility Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10 Food: 1 Service: 1

"I booked here after searching for dog friendly, gluten free friendly and good food. Focussing on the good stuff, booking confirmed both dogs and GF accommodated. Very friendly on arrival. Very lovely building and interior. The dog friendly area was lovely. On the menu dishes were identified with GFA which meant ‘Gluten Free or Adaptable’ with a good choice. We ordered 3 roast dinners. My GFA beef and Yorkshire pudding arrived without the Yorkshire. After checking it transpires that to meet GFA the Yorkshire pudding was simply removed. No other option. I was told I could have the YP with gluten if I wanted it… When we ordered desserts I checked first confirmed that the GFA fruit fool and crumble was in face just the fruit fool. When we shared our reasonable feedback about the interpretation of GFA, the lady listened but made no comment or acknowledgement. She didn’t actually seem concerned either way although friendly enough. The meals themselves were reasonable, the meat good quality. The gravy was lovely. Overall I thought the food was expensive for a pleasant enough but not fabulous Sunday roast. I would not return as a GF diner. It seems like a small thing but GF adaption being equal to just leaving out parts of the dish that have gluten in them doesn’t feel very welcoming. Do go there for pleasant regular food, a lovely setting, (overall) friendly staff and dog friendly indoor eating. I have marked down on value for money, and for the GFA experience. Take away the GF stuff and it’s 4 stars."
