The only reason this got a 4 and not full stars is because the super efficient way of ordering sort of makes you feel like your holding up the line That said, it's cheap, staff is friendly, food is delicious and there's seating all over, all indoor. I recommend this highly, but if like me you have the social anxiety thing goin on, don't go during lunch hour.

Quaint pie shop. Goddard's is a classic old English-style pub like pie eatery where there's a huge variety of pie fillings, flavours and accompaniments. I had the classic steak and ale pie with mash which I would give a 6.5/10 as what mainly let it down was the pastry which wasn't as flaky as I would of hoped. All in all was a satisfactory meal and would eat there again!

I usually like pies have a good crusty pastry but I thought since I was in England, I might as well follwed their tradition, which was to eat pies with gravy huge mistake. Ordered the traditional beef ones, they poured lots of gravy all over your pies. By the time I sat down, the pies were soggy and all I could taste was the gravy. Pastry was too thick too. Luckily they were cheap.

Restaurants with old English classics like pie, mash and jellied eel are nowadays a dying breed. so it is always good to come over one who tries to keep the flame alive. eating is not the spiciest thing they find, but people do not come here to search tikka masala and the staff can offer some helpful suggestions to live the food. the prices are also quite cheap considering that this is london.

I eat here when I'm in greenwich because it's so cheap and good! their aale are great, both in the sauce, and in the cake, maic and peas combo is quite large. I've tried 4 of their cakes and must say that although they are not the best cakes in london, they are a square meal for under £8! go to the lamb and rosmarin cake if you still have a place or have someone to share, their dessert crumbs are also great!

In my uni days this place was a life saver. Such quality honest grub and a no nonsense approach to food. When it closed down I was gutted, it's as of a part of the Greenwich heritage was lost. But just as they Cutty Sark was reconditioned and given a re birth so did Goddards! Even with a Nandos and a Burger joint newly opened this is still by far the most honest, tastiest, most filling and pocket friendly place to eat in Greenwich or maybe even London! Glad they back doing what they do best.

Back in my Univeristy days, Goodards pie and mash was my budget lunches meals for £3. £3 was such a bargain for a hot meal, this includes a pie, mash, and a choice of peas or beans. Located right next to Cutty Sark station your just minutes away from the family run business The chicken and mushroom pie is the best I had in London, filled with white creamy sauce and tender soft chicken and mushrooms packed with flavour. The crust was nice and flaky, but the mash was a bit of disappointed it tasted bland with no flavour.
