"We wandered into this restaurant on a weekday and were immediately impressed with the quiet ambiance and typical German decor. We sat upstairs where only one other table was occupied. The staff was warm and friendly and the food very good. A very nice mixed salad came with most courses and was very good. There were many choices for main courses and we each had a different one so we could sample the others. Many pork (schwein) dished and the cutlets with mushroom sauce was excellent! The spatzle were outstanding, and were quickly sauteed in butter just before serving. Wunderbar!! Highly recommended and in the Altstadt. Would definitely return again in fact tried to do so, but restaurant was closed that night.Check for Reutag days!"

The food was delicious and the atmosphere great in this very old inn. The schnitzel was super and the Leber Klosse soup yummy. Located on a very old side street in town. Definitely try it out

We ate here twice during our three day trip to Neustadt. Wonderful fresh food that we couldn't get enough of. Our favorite was the Spätzle. either the one with the pork medallions or the cheese Spatzle. Both were excellent.

The food here was good. However after we had ordered a waitress came over with an apple strudel and refused to believe we didn't order it. She wouldn't take no for answer and was being very rude, she only stopped when our original waitress came over and told her that it was for a table downstairs!

This is the second time we have eaten here in a year…..consistency is the key . Food is very good local fare.We had bratwurst mit kraut, great salad w/ unique mustard dressing and schweinsnitzel w/ potatoes. Do not speak english but owner and waitress was friendly offering us a neu or new wine of this season.Sehr gut!!

We were a group of 10 and luckily had a reservation since the place was very busy. The menu is not very large but there is something for everyone and the prices are very reasonable. I had the Wurst Salat mit Bratkartoffeln and it was really good. Several folks had the Gerberhaus Spaetzle; one had the Rahmschnitzel and everyone was very pleased with the food and the service. There are a few tables downstairs where we sat and there is additional seating upstairs. I'd go back again when in Neustadt.

This place is highly recommended not only because of this good kitchen performance, which is also very positive. Also the presentation, this rustic charm of the restaurant is worth mentioning. The rabbit lobe was well cooked and the hosting was a dream, only the sauce of the lobe was for my taste somewhat tied down very tightly, but this is jammering at a high level. For this, the roasted potatoes were fried crispy and not drowned in oil. Even the porcelain or the stoneware on which the food was dressed was very chic. Not a tourist pub, but honest cuisine. You're welcome.
