It's really upsetting when you have such delicious food service, only to be held hostage on the wine. The lowest priced bottle of red is £44, which is a £6 screw top bottle in Tesco. Tut tut

For a Tuesday lunchtime, I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant's atmosphere. The service was good. We ordered from the legacy menu, which offers good value but doesn't include sides. The steak, requested medium-rare, appeared correctly cooked but was disappointingly tough. The standout dish wasn't the steak but the empanada. Unfortunately, the upright seats were extremely uncomfortable due to worn-out padding. This visit to Gaucho after many years reminded me why I hadn't returned for steak in so long.
