Just happened to walk by this place....close to my hotel Marriott...I had the veal meatballs which where very hardly and good as well...my friend had the schnitzel and he said it was the best he has tasted...big portions...great service!!..will return in winter to visit the holiday markets..

We went here for lunch and had weiner schnitzel a couple of times already and were in the mood for something different. This was one of their specialties however. I ended up ordering veal meatballs and they were good. My wife ordered a pasta with chanterelles and she didn't care for it at all. The sauce didn't bring out the flavor of the mushroom but rather overwhelmed it. Service was fine. It wasn't crowed at all for lunchtime, might be different for dinner. Was recommended by our hotel concierge.

I'm really disappointed. I booked the table for 6 people by phone this afternoon. I asked to sit outside, because it is summer and the weather is hot and sunny. When we arrived I was told that there is (1) no reservation, (2) they do not want to have us seated outside, because it "might" start raining and (3) in case it will rain they do not want to move us inside. Not very charming, we felt not welcome.At the end, I went round the corner. The sister-restaurant "Da Moritz" made us felt welcome - so we had our dinner there. It was really nice. We had dinner here. Be sure to call for a reservation, especially in that we were seated near an open door on a warm evening. The service is understated but excellent. We enjoyed weiner schnitzel as well as a boiled beef dish which we understand is very traditional home cooking. It is also a good alternative to the fried dishes. As boiled beef isn't something we are accustomed to we took a chance on the waiters recommendation. It was quality beef and very tasty. The beers on tap were an excellent selection of local brews. Desserts were Viennese heavenly. All in all a very pleasant dinner a few blocks off the tourist Parkring without the tourist pricing.

We ate here with a Viennese friend so we could have an authentic Austrian meal. We were not disappointed. We had the Viennese fried chicken and she had the liver. This was washed down with a lovely bottle of Austrian Zweigelt (red) wine. It was a warm night and we were able to eat outside. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful and the meals arrived in a timely fashion. As a lover of potato salads, I can say that this one was excellent. I opted out of the suggested cranberry sauce as an accompaniment but next time I would say yes.The bill was around 80EUR, which is very reasonable for three dinners, wine and fizzy water. This place serves classic food, and does a good job doing it. The serving size is great, the food is beautifully presented, the staff are friendly and helpful. The fish one of us had was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The vegetables were fresh. The mixed salad was good. The cover charge worth it since you get a home made pate with delicious Italian bread and butter. Yum. The ambiance of the atmosphere on the street is typical Vienna. The nice thing about eating outside is the fact that there is a solid partition between the table and the street, so there is a nice degree of privacy.
