"We stopped for a midday coffee at Fra Diavolo, which has a nice spot in central Leipzig. Nice enough we thought - suitable for pre Gewandhaus recital meal.Diavolo is very smart inside and has a pleasant array of al fresco tables from which to take in the lovely old city.We had dined extremely well on hand made pasta in Berlin the day before so our palates were expecting something similar for what was a few more euros. My pasta with mushrooms was however fairly bland and didn't seem hand made. The preceding tomato salad was bog standard.Service from our waiter was professional but without any warmth. The place seemed a bit complacent - a hallmark of many a well-located eatery that can sometimes make you feel they are doing you a favour by letting you eat there.We asked for our bill promptly so we weren't late for Arcadi Volodos's (riveting) performance. We paid and then asked if we could have some tap water to avoid dry throats for the maestro. We were told by the waiter that it wasn't allowed by the manager/(owner??). When we asked if we could speak to this prohibiting person, we were told they weren't there. A) If they weren't there then who was managing and B) why would they not serve tap water - silly question I suppose - the answer is £££. Anyway, the waiter did bring us a couple of glasses,s but by that time there was ill-feeling all round. What a waster of time over something so basic.Isn't it about time that every restaurant worth its salt (supplied) just plonks a jug of tap water with some ice on each table at the beginning of a meal. For goodness sake it isn't saffron-coated truffles or single malt is it.My advice - perhaps go there but insist they bring you Leitungswasser from the start - if not, walk away or open up your own bottle."

Waren dort zum Dinner. Die Bedienung kam schnell und brachte die Karte. Die Getränke kamen auch sehr schnell. Pizza dauerte ca. 15 min. War absolut frisch und lecker, wie eine Pizza in Italien sein soll. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Jetzt nicht Überragendes. Gute Weine...man sitzt sehr eng aufeinander. Im Herbst bei schönem Wetter ist es draußen sehr schön, die Kellner verbreiten Unruhe.Würde wieder hingehen...man wird satt und es gibt bedeutend schlechtere Italiener.

Wir waren mit Freunden hier und hatten verschiedene Speisen. Alles war sehr gut, von Pizza über Salat bis Auflauf. Ich habe schon ( noch) besser gegessen, daher ein Stern weniger. Der Service war sehr nett und alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit.

Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert welcher uns am Eingang nicht zu sagte und fragten höflich um einen anderen ,es war noch Auswahl vorhanden .Dem Kellner passte es leider nicht und das lies er uns die ganze Zeit spüren .Das Essen war allerdings gut.

Wir waren zum Mittag in der Woche dort. Ich hatte eine Pizza und meine Partnerin das Mittagsangebot "Putensteak". Meine Pizza war in Ordnung, jedoch auch nicht mehr. Mir persönlich fehlte es am Geschmack. Würde daher nicht noch einmal wegen dieser Pizza kommen.

Das Restaurant ist perfekt gelegen, direkt am Neuen Rathaus in Leipzig. Die Bedienung war leider nur mäßig freundlich, jedoch war der Service recht schnell. Die Gerichte waren recht lecker, jedoch waren die Portionen zu klein, wodurch wir nach dem Essen noch Hunger hatten.

Zeit mitbringen: Die Vorspeisen kommen nach Aufforderung ca. 60 min. später. Mit Glück bekommt man nach knapp 2 Stunden den Hauptgang. Bitte trinken Sie nicht so schnell. Es kommt nichts nach. Ein Lächeln des Kellners bleibt selbstverständlich aus. Trinkgeld dann ebenso. Die Pizza ist steinhart. Was solls. So sind die sicher schnell vom Markt.

...ich weiß nicht, ob es Überforderung, Überheblichkeit oder etwas anderes ist...Jedenfalls fühle ich mich mit meiner Wahrnehmung nicht alleine, wenn ich die ein oder andere Bewertung früherer Gäste hier lese und es dabei um den Faktor Zeit geht!Tatsächlich war bei meinem Besuch wenig Frequenz hier. Gleichwohl saß ich für viele Minuten unbeachtet oder bewußt ignoriert (?) bei schönem Wetter draußen und nicht nur ich, wie ich beobachten konnte. Ich war gerade im Begriff, unverrichteter Dinge wieder weiterzuziehen, als völlig überraschend doch noch eine Servicekraft auftauchte und mich nach meinen Essenswünschen fragte.Ich habe mich für eine Pizza Roastbeef mit Ei entschieden und die war kurzu...
