Finch House Cafe Bakery

Been in a few times. Staff pleasant enough. Good selection of coffee's and snacks. Some things are a bit on the expensive side for what they are in my opinion. However overall I think the place is okay.

Lovely Classy cafe on the high street with seating inside and out. Very clean and staff were good at service. Some prices a little on the high side, but overall excellent. had coffees and lunch. Portion size great.

We called here for. Coffee and, seeing my partner’s favourite on the menu , ordered a salt beef sandwich. Firstly it was toasted and also included melted cheese. Although the ingredients were fresh it certainly didn’t reach its over £6 cost. The coffee too was not particularly good. Pleasant staff Voir le carte

Met up with friends for afternoon cofffee, tea and cake. Very nice cafe with plenty of seating and relaxed atmosphere. Had coffee and cake as did my friends, There is outside seating which is pleasant on warm days.There is certainly no shortage of restaurants and cafes in Orpington but The Finch house is one of the better ones should you be visiting the high street.

This is a nice coffee shop and bakery easy to find in the middle of Orpington High Street. Once inside, the shop is roomy, the decor is modern and clean and has a utilitarian, functional feel that I quite like. The service is efficient, the coffee is good and they have a splendid looking selection of cakes, pastries, flatbreads, salads and pies if you fancy something to eat. Very good.

Last time I visited the bakery I picked up a leaflet on the celebration cakes that they offer. I ordered a chocolate one for my sister's 30th birthday and it was excellent. It looked fantastic, was beautifully fresh and not too sweet and sickly. The celebration cakes are also very well priced in comparison with ones I have previously ordered from other London bakeries. Visited yesterday morning ordered pastries and coffees . Lady who served us had no customer service qualities at all . I went to find a seat for us as we had a pram with us and took the pastries with us . The lady called to us and said can you wait for your coffees ! I wasn't expecting table service and was coming back for the coffees ! But having a pram with us wanted to get a table first after paying and then going back to collect our drinks . She was very unhelpful ! Didn't like her attitude at all ! And I would recommend that she went back to charm school . Plenty of coffee shops in orpington !!

The coffee in this place is really nice, and that’s all you should have here. We had a bad experience here a while ago but decided to give them a second chance today and go for breakfast. The very simple food took over 30 minutes and when it arrived it was Luke warm and not at all tasty. We found the service at the counter very offhand but I think this was down to a young inexperienced and untrained server. If you’re going to run a place like this you need a good team who can deliver consistent quality. We’ve given them two chances and that’s enough, there are plenty of other places in town.
