"Already at my penultimate visit to Lindau I discovered: here is something big, here is the hammer, probably the hit for Lindau. And: here someone takes quite a lot of money, here it is maloched and made and a new highlight for the city is created. What happened in this place? I can't remember. Probably really an elevator hall, an express train station, a warehouse. In any case, the location is located directly at the island station, at the outer corner, where the Schüztingerweg reaches the Mole and where you reach the new light tumour. A magical place with magnificent views of Bregenz and Pfänder. Just in the time of sunset, nice to kneel and thus the perfect place for a sunset, while on the other side the mountains shine in tender pink. Well, enough weakened. At the moment it is hammered and emptied and the romance also has its limits. Nevertheless, all the flaneur and day guests and rafters that come with the courseship move directly into this corner. The schedule clearly states that the new rush. Good.Hall should be opened in spring 2017. To bridge the long reconstruction and waiting time, the lake has now been opened as an interim solution. Lounge. Bar – and it indicates that you have been waiting for it for years. Actually, it's just an extended bush, a provisional, but it's running pretty well. There is self service, you order at the counter, get the drinks immediately gifted and delivered and have to wait for a while for the dishes. The number is determined on the handy Bon, which, however, as my previous experience shows, is not related to the waiting period or preparation time. Generally everything is under the motto improvisation, but nobody dares, nobody likes it. The place really radiates a magic that all calm and rescue. At the moment you sit outside, on tiny sunbeds overlooking the water and Austria, on benches or on some beer garden chairs with tables. Signposters clearly point out that this area is reserved for the guests of the Eilguthallte, but you will find many flaneurs and families and dog owners who are just waiting here and take a break. Well, it's kind of gonna fall. The menu is a large slate table. There are salads, sausage salads, small snacks and snacks for wine (such as olives), crêpe with barbecue vegetables and feta, marigold fillet on Red Beete-Gurkensalat, English tea sandwiches in various variations and, very good: Bavarian finger food plate with homemade deer sausage, Obazda Radieschen Albkäse dice very popular). From the legendary winery Aufricht vom Bodensee (Hagnau) you will find something, for example in summer I like the Secco (25.50 Euro the bottle). I was a guest on a beautiful summer evening at the end of August. The queue before the order came relatively fast. The service is absolutely concentrated, but still good on it and very nice and towards the customer. They always try to make the best of the situation. My white wine choir (3.60 Euro) was immediately prepared, it was very fresh and was very generously poured in. I had to wait a few minutes for dinner, which is just a little. The tomato-mozzarelle spices were more “for the hollow tooth”, but you can almost understand them as tapas as a small snack to the wine. (5.60 euros). In the food question there was a confusion, because probably the pulps were outside, but there was no money back. By the way, you have to take back the dishes yourself, which works well. The toilets are accommodated in a container, also quite provisional, but very clean. I am looking forward to the further development. All right, great place."

"We found Villino by chance on our way from Germany to Italy......and what a find that was. In order to cut our long drive in half we decided to make a stop for the night in Lindau. The Hotel is located on a little hill...and the drive goes up a narrow road. First we thought we made a wrong turn...but then the Villino (small Villa) appeared. Ample parking and a very inviting lobby gave us already a fantastic impression. The staff was incredible and very accommodating. The room was small and cozy...but it was the last one available since they were fully booked. The room, bath, bed, view....everything top notch. My wife Monika and I were tired from the drive and therefore decided not to drive into town for dinner. Please keep in mind that we choose the Villino for the hotel and NOT for their restaurant. We stumbled into the restaurant not knowing what a gourmet temple it was. We found out that is was a Top listed restaurant in Germany and the cream of the crop. Boy oh boy what treat it was. The tasting menu was not inexpensive but worth every penny. EVERYTHING was perfect and too much to list. My wife and I constantly looked at eachother and could not believe what was happening to us: We were in seventh heaven. The best dinner we had EVER !!! We went to bed and had very pleasant dreams. We thought dinner was perfect and could not be topped.......but then we had breakfast outside in their courtyard. OMG what a wonderful breakfast. NO we should not call that a breakfast, it was more like a DREAM. Everything fresh, cooked, whipped or made to order. Everything tasted fantastic and we did not wanted to leave. LOL If you ever pass thru Lindau or the Bodensee area you MUST stay here or at least eat there. You owe it to yourself."

"The Old Post is a bit from the Rummel. Restaurant and hotel in one, but we only ate. Circa 15 cozy walk from the port of Lindau you have to go there. Many tables are decorated in front of the corner house with sturdy chairs. Inside it is also sturdy and traditionally decorated. You're sitting in a quiet area with a car traffic, but it doesn't matter to you. The advantage for car drivers is, of course, that the parking spaces are opposite. We reserved 6:00, there's something going on. Reservation is highly recommended! For us (12 people), the prepared table is still spontaneously extended by a small table so that we do not sit too tight. Then we will be supplied with cards, food and drinks separated. Above is the sausage salad, there are cakes, ice cream, soups, salads, noodles, meat, mules and sausage. So really a great deal, for every tour. The dishes are available in sizes normal and slightly smaller. If you say nix, there is the normal part. This portion size is also sufficient for normal hunger. I was a little experimental tonight and ordered the Wiener Schnitzel with pommes and salad. As a drink a regional beer: Lindauer Hell; delicious. Half for 4 euros. The operation took everything fleeting and well-launated, very neat on a big note with a line list. First the salads came, from size okay. After a waiting period, the main courts came. Only one had to be asked (baked turkey carving). I guess the kitchen was a little slower or the service missed it while picking up. Two medium-sized Wiener Schnitzel with good charge Pommes. Majo and ketchup are available on additional plates in small portion bags. Okay, cost 14.60 euros, normal in Lindau. For the ladies there was Ladysteak, 150 g turkey breast for 14.50 euros. For others a grill plate, steaks of beef, pig, turkey for 16.50 euros. Everyone was happy, nobody complained about food. There was room for Dessert. Vanilla ice cream with rumpot fruit and cream. But still find something to try. The ice part comes in a heart-shaped shell, the rum fruits extra. To gradually spoons. Rum was not saved, strong mix for 7.60 euros. Taste. We didn't regret the visit, we were looking good. The prices are of course higher because of a small piece."
