"The hotel is wonderful if you love historic houses. The hotel lives and breathes history. With every movement the floorboards creak and the beds squeak. It's half a museum, each room has a plaque telling a story from former guests. When you spend the night here, you not only travel to Goms, but also into the past. The renovated areas, such as the sauna and restaurant, fit well into the whole. The service was top and very accommodating. The only thing I didn't like was the soft electronic music during breakfast. Unfortunately, this is a trend in many hotels today. Unfortunately, it's even less appropriate here in a historic hotel."

A spontaneous choice for dinner. We sat on the rear terrace, facing the river, with outstanding views of The valley and mountains. The menu was simple but everything was excellent. The staff were attentive, polite and efficient. Definitely one to go beck to.

The reviews all looked very good, but the restaurant was disappointing. The food was very tasty, but I find it incomprehensible that an Angus beef burger from the village butcher costs exactly the same as the vegetarian halloumi burger. That can't be! The waiters were quite stressed and overwhelmed. The service was okay, but very half-hearted. The wine list is very extensive with many open bottle options. All in all, I would only recommend the restaurant if the service and prices change. Voir le carte

The room is old and shabby, there is no room service. The bed is hard and shabby, the shower is small and has hardly any water pressure. The heating makes noise and the rooms are hardly or not at all insulated, you can hear everything from your neighbors. The breakfast is decent and otherwise the prices are very high. The service when eating is catastrophic. The waitress doesn't listen when he calls, he's unfriendly and distant, and it takes a long time to order something (if it's brought at all). An ice tea was not brought and the bill was not shared with us as requested.

"Not in the midst of Zurich or Bern, not really close to much at all. Far off in a valley in the canton of Wallis lies this little gem. Reading the menu it was very soon clear that the choice would be the Gourmet's Magic ..(Gourmetzauber) menu. A minimum of two people required and reasonably priced for seven courses. Safe to say that it has been a surprising journey throughout those well-prepared dishes. The amuse bouche was a great little homage to the region itself, with some regional cheese not to be missed. Although again, the ethical viewpoint in mind, it is also very safe to say that the two variations of foie gras were marvelous. The roulade with the plums was a very fine idea. The sea bass with pumpkin and oranges was quite the dream. Well fried and with a deliciously rounded up taste. A good combination that I will certainly remember when cooking at home. As for the rabbit I can only bow to the chef. Having an Alsatian heritage, I grew up with rabbit meat. Once in a while on Sundays it was time for Grandma's rabbit, cooked as a whole. The à point creation we have been served at the Gommerstuba has truly been one of the best main courses I have eaten yet. And yes, I am saying this after having been in some very good restaurants already. But with the flavors, the tenderness, and the degree of doneness they have outdone themselves. The dessert was a little disappointing though. It might just be a matter of taste, but the red cabbage and the seabuckthorn ice cream with the chocolate just didn't work for me. Thumbs up for creativity, but you know what they say about going overboard with things... The ambience and service doesn't keep up with the food, that's for sure. But it does keep up with the town. It fits right in and the staff does so too. Friendly and cozy. I would recommend a stop by to every skiing and hiking tourist in the area who wants to have a special meal. A meal you won't forget."
