"When it came to our wine, it was simply placed on the table with two glasses, and the manager left without offering to pour, taste, or even confirm that it was the wine we had selected. After our starters, we were given the option to move to a higher table, but it was still surrounded by soft seating, and we found ourselves needing additional cushions from a nearby sofa, yet still ended up dining at almost knee level. The food was good overall, although serving fish and chips in a wire basket wasn’t the most practical choice. The small pot of wine sauce was only one-third full, which felt a bit stingy. That said, the seafood chowder was delicious, and the Thai curry was also quite tasty. Unfortunately, no one checked back with us after serving our meals to see if we were satisfied, and we were only approached once we finished eating to see if we wanted anything else."

The ambiance was absolutely ideal for celebrating a birthday. I particularly loved the pianist's performance.

We really enjoyed our food (nicest steaks ever) however service was a bit slow as the staff were very stretched. They were lovely but they just could’ve used more help to keep things moving. Seating is a bit awkward too. Very low down for dining.

I took my husband out for his birthday, and we loved the ambiance of the restaurant. I noticed that the service has definitely improved since our last visit. Our waiter was friendly and efficient, which made our experience even better. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks.

Unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations or the recommendations we had received. We had to ask multiple times for various items for our table, and some of the food never even arrived. We were extremely disappointed, especially since we were looking forward to enjoying our time on vacation. Voir le carte

eszimmer was nice and waiter were all very polite, but the service was very, very slow. online asked if there was a special occasion. told them it was the 18th of my daughter. there was no mention of it from anyone in the hotel, so why do they ask online first place? I would definitely go back, although eating and red ale was great and it is a nice piece history to dinate in.

Service was ok but didn’t seem to have a main waiter with lots of different staff attending our table, so a bit disjointed. We weren’t told what the soup of the day was when ordering but heard other tables close by being told. We had no condiments at our table and weren’t offered any. My wife had to send her coffee back as it was cold, my Irish coffee was also cold but I drank it, quickly. The food was nice but at £83 and considering the above we left feeling disappointed.

We were booked for 6.15pm and were served very quickly , the food came very quickly , good start , it started to go downhill from there. The service then became very poor , we were given our dinner and no condiments , i managed to catch someones attention who said they would be right with us , they didnt come back , we ate our dinner and the empty plates were left sitting for nearly an hour. I had to go and ask someone to come and clear our table as no one came near us in all of that time. I felt the service went down hill quickly the min our dinner was served. Voir le carte

Disappointing. An impressive building and a lovely room but the service really let down our dining experience. First we waited a long time between ordering and receiving drinks. Food came out about 30 mins after ordering but we then waited another 45 mins before mains arrived. In this time no-one returned to collect plates or take further drink orders. We then waited another 30 minutes before giving up on getting coffee or dessert and had to walk to the bar to ask for our bill. Staff didn’t seem over-busy but just inexperienced and were also a bit surly. Food was decent but not anywhere near spectacular enough to make up for the service…

irregular food standard, chowder was exceptional, brownies on child menu were very well presented. steak was in order, not prepared as he demanded poor value overall. cocktails very average not prepared for the standard of a good cocktail bar. great environment, but the service was really appalling. it seems as if the personal has not been properly trained, no specific waiting personnel seem to have been assigned to the tables, we met 5 different exit staff over 3 courses. very long wait between the curses, empty plates goggles left on the table. Really basic things, the sky restaurant should be able to handle. Overall, not recommended what a candid is, as the seafood cahowder is one of the...

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."
