We had a very good lunch and we enjoyed the friendliness which this is what we first pay attention in a restaurant {service} The bean burger was very good !! scott was crazy funny !!

I've been here with my partner three times and it's been great on each occaision, there's a decent range of drinks, plenty veggie options (the bean burger was amazing), the food is very tasty and the staff are super nice!

quiet and freendly bar serves good food and a large selection of drinks on all levels. I had the very good looking venison sausage and maic. the employees are freendly and offer a fantastic service that makes it appear pretty effortless. Thank you for helping us have a great night. Voir le carte

This is about my 10th visit if you let them know your out in garden and you want drinks and food dont wait for them to come out everytime we have waited 20 to 30 min for someone to come out always wait at bar for menu and stay and order your drinks before you go out food amazing 10 out 10 just a shame about service

We visited this bar/grill that has been open for a few years now. We stopped by last week and decided to have a drink in the afternoon. The interior of the place can only be described as a work in progress. Whoever thought this design was a good idea was mistaken. The cask beer and wine we ordered were good, and the staff was friendly. However, the lack of decor was disappointing.

I mind when this was getting refurbished and the scaffolding came down. I thought someone had set fire to it but turns out that was the decor. Inside it couldn't be more hipsterish as it resembles a down at heel scrapyard. But the food was OK and not over priced, and the staff were friendly. Tried this place on basis that it was supposed to be close to our hotel. Turns out the address is wrong on TripAdviser and the postcode is wrong on Google. We ended up in a housing estate first attempt then discovered it was actually 15 miles from where we were! Anyhow, we persevered and glad we did, for Barrelhouse is a bit different and quirky. The menu is not extensive and our meals were a bit hit and miss to be honest, but the staff were fantastic friendly and attentive (and kept apologizing that we had got lost as though they were somehow responsible) and it has a great ambience. The home made ginger beer was superb.

Visited The Barrelhouse back when it opened and wasn't impressed at all. However, my husband was keen to go and get something to eat, so gave it another try. Visited on a cold Friday night in March. Didn't book and were very surprised at how busy it was. Got a very warm welcome from the staff and managed to get the last table. Ordered two burgers; The Filthy Burger and the Southern Fried Chicken Burger. Both were served with chips and salad. They were cooked to perfection and very very tasty. My only criticism would be that the chips had way to much salt on them. Why does the chef have to add salt? Overall, excellent tasty food at a great price and very friendly staff. We went to the Barrelhouse as we worked nearby and wanted to share a meal with a friend who was having her last day at work. It was a little after 1pm and we were expecting it to be a little busy but it was empty which in this weather I would have wondered why. My friend made the remark at the last meal her companion got food poisioning after being there. Decor is questionable but I expect if you are drunk enough you might think it is quirky. Service was good and considering it was empty gave us menus fast together with a specials menu.
