"It 's such a shame to see this place go down hill. It appears that the original staff before lockdown have all but vanished besides the odd one. As a result the Sun In has now gone from being a great gastro pub to a woo-girl (Google/UD it) eatary and sports bar. I imagine this was perhaps done by the owners to try and bring in a more alcohol friendly audience to combat the less impressive menu. Food was mostly good however one dish served to one of the party contained an ingredient, that was not listed on the menu. We spoke to the new manager who sorted it but our plates were cleared well before the affected party member had finished. Almost provoking a quick turn around time for a modestly filled restaurant/bar area."

"Very disappointed with our visit for my birthday and our anniversary. We were taken to upstairs room, cheerless, with no ambience, unlike downstairs where we thought we would be eating. Our starter of Coquille St. Jacques was very poor, hardly any potato, one scallop and one prawn in a very thin sauce. The beef and mushroom pie again was in a very thin gravy with a thin one crust shortcrust top. At the end of our meal we let the waitress know what we thought of the meal and she did at least say she would let the chef know."

"First time customer, it will be the last time!! Called and ordered takeout, guy who answered sounded confused or drunk, this was 8.30pm Made him repeat the order back to me 3 times, was told to collect in 45 mins/an hour, after 40 mins they rang to ask where we were!! Said food was waiting and they didn’t want it to get cold, husband was already on his way. Once home, we noticed a dish was missing and one of the dishes was wrong. Onion bhaji was hard, naan was thick and hard. Called to complain and was offered replacement dish but it was 9.50pm by then so we said no. Why would I want more food that they couldn’t get right and was low quality? Very disappointed in the service and food. I was left hungry as I couldn’t eat it Don’t waste your time, I have bought better from Morrisons"

"Great atmosphere. Saw a band in the beer garden. Staff friendly. Only negative is that it needs a little DIY care in a couple of places including the ladies loo doors. Certainly one has bowed and doesn't lock. The hedge in the beer garden needs pruning and There is also some wood falling off one of the wall by the barbecue. Will definitely return. Price per person: £1–10"

"my first visit in nr. 5 and it will not be the last. the crab cakes were delicious. beautifully presented cajun huhn caesar, loved the addition of berries. and stick toffee mm mmmmm pudding. my partner had the burger who was also very delicious, great chips. we ate from the market menu, 3 courses for £23,95 but now we know that the quality is excellent, we would be happy plump for the regular menu also my eye is on the lobster thermidor and the duck!"
