"At first we were impressed by the low prices compared to other places on King 's Road. The ambience is nice and the cakes look tasty! We ordered a cheese onion toastie and a hummus, Halloumi and carrot wrap to take away. We were told the wait would be 10 minutes as there were a couple of orders before ours. 30 minutes later and our food had still not materialised! I understand that it was busy, but the two members of staff behind the counter didn 't seem to have a rush bone in their bodies. The girl making the sandwiches even stopped to have a chat with some customers while everybody was waiting for their food. My biggest gripe however, was when I took a bite into my wrap and realised that they 'd put grilled vegetables instead of carrot (I 'd overheard earlier that they 'ran out of carrot ' but they didn 't consult me about it). I am allergic to aubergine, which is in the grilled vegetables. Granted I didn 't disclose that when I gave the order, but only because I 'd intentionally chosen a wrap that didn 't contain grilled vegetables. I don 't know whether it was an honest mistake, or whether they substituted the carrots without consulting me. If I hadn 't been in my car driving away I would have gone back and found out. In the end the whole thing went in the bin. All in all I think this business needs to take a look at its food practices. I also saw staff touching their hair and then food without washing their hands. I work in catering and this is a big no no."

A really enjoyable bacon sandwich and hot chocolate in a great location. It was so good I stopped for a hot sausage roll as well!

Food was delicious. I had poached eggs on toast. Right amount of butter and salt. The atmosphere was nice. A good mix of people watching on offer too! Service was excellent

We had a coffee from here early Sunday morning due to early train journey. I must say it was such a lovely coffee truly the best I have had. A nice smooth taste. Would definitely recommend and will buy again when I'm in the area.

Great spot for a bite to eat, seemed popular. Atmosphere was good. But, Waited 20+ mins for 2 sandwiches, although it was lunch time, so a busy time. I'm more disappointed that I paid way above average for a sandwich, which was made using shop purchased bread, underneath, half of the bread was missing and soggy. Hardly any filling. I hate leaving negative reviews, but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting.

Overall lovely cafe and food with friendly staff with nice local items and seating outside. I ordered a vegan New Yorker sandwich. However while watching them prepare my sandwich noticed they placed my sandwich next to a cheese sandwich in the toastie machine making the chance of melted cheese ending up on my sandwich highly likely. Then later used the same knife to cut my sandwich as all the other sandwiches. I would recommend using baking paper in the toastie machine and different chopping boards/knives for meat-veggie-vegan to avoid the chances of cross contamination between sandwiches.
