very clean and welcoming. eating was excellent from starters to the net to the sides. personal very friendly and attentive. would definitely recommend. excellent value for money

There was a small mistake in getting our order delivered correctly, but the staff didn't give up. When we finally received our meal, it was amazing! It was definitely worth the wait and we left the restaurant happy.

doesn't look out. we thought only one take away. very pleasantly surprised. like the dr who tardis! big, spacy, comfortable, good music, comfortable. Wide menu, will adapt to the individual choice. great taste. see the cook. very friendly. good prices.

Whilst staying in Scarborough on holiday, we chanced upon this restaurant. We turned up without a booking, no problem seating us. The pickle tray& poppadoms starters were lovely good sized portions of passanda curry, chicken tikka ,lemon rice& peshawar naan....Delicious! Well worth a visit, reasonably priced too.

The main meals were overly sweet, the egg fried rice was bland, and the drinks were lukewarm. The poppadoms were okay, but the overall experience was not worth the price. We found the food disgusting and the server was uninterested and seemed to mumble before walking away. However, the lady at the bar was lovely.

Had an amazing meal at rice on spice on a Wednesday night in October. It was really quiet we were in as a family. The food was absolutely amazing, I would highly recommend. came here after reading the previous reviews. does not look much from the outside, but a pleasant environment when it is down and into the restaurant itself. beautiful poppadome to start next to a beautiful vegetable plate. fisch jalfrezi was super as pornstars, with a huhn and keema balti....Naan brote were beautiful as gadget, cheese and peshwari (lots of kokosnuss would certainly recommend it and will return again when in scarborough again.

My wife and I decided that this year a different sort of Christmas Dinner was needed. We decided to go to Rice and Spice in Scarborough. It turned out to be a very good choice. We had the usual Poppadoms and pickle tray followed by...the Onion Bhaji and a meat platter starters. We shared a veggie main dish with side dishes, rice and nan bread. Two glasses of wine and a pint of coke. Cost Very, very reasonable and we couldn't fault it. The staff were all very pleasant. A really good experience which we would happily repeat and recommend.

After reading lovely reviews, myself and my partner decided to come here for an evening meal. Walking in, we noticed it was quite quiet for being a Saturday night. We soon found out why. The best part of the meal was the popadoms, which were...average. We ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken madras for our mains. Both curry’s were not like any we had tasted before. They were watery and extremely, sickly sweet. After a few mouthfuls we couldn’t eat any more so they were left and at that point we just wanted to leave.
