"We have been dining here, on and off, for over ten years, almost as long as it has been open. Surprised to find I had never reviewed it, so here goes! You are always best making a reservation, as it is very popular. Currently open...from weekdays. The other side of the business is hosting private ‘do’s’ and outside catering provision.Chef and owner Christine Vaughan reigns in the kitchen.. Husband Dave is often front- of house, serving. We have never had a less than scrumptious salad, cake or quiche here. All the food is home- made and all the better for it. Prices are quite reasonable, a piece of cake, including fresh cream coming to under a fiver. I often have the rustic salad, incorporating greens, onion, cheese, pork pie, egg , tomato, cucumber pickle and a fresh bread roll, once again, a few pence under a fiver. In all the times we have dined there, the only dish we did not like was a minced beef pie, which we took home to eat. and, amazingly, found it far too salty to eat for our tastes. As the cafe is a minute drive from home, there was no point taking it back! We have just been again today and give fair warning that we will be back often!"
