Chichester Arms - Menu

The roast beef and vegetable sides at this restaurant were delicious, but unfortunately not served at an optimal temperature. The staff was welcoming and the cheese board for two was fantastic and reasonably priced. I would have eaten more if the food was hotter. I plan to return and request additional heating next time.

This pub in Devon is likely the best in the area, and possibly beyond, but I don't venture out much anymore. I have been a patron for 30 years and it has never disappointed, except for when it suffered a devastating fire. It took some time to refurbish, but they did so in excellent period style. A visit here for food and/or drinks is highly recommended.

Thank you Shaun , Pascoe and team , last night we celebrated my husbands 60 birthday and hired the den bar for 50 friends . We pre ordered their hot buffet, the food was magnificent and plentiful, the private party area was perfect.Shaun's team were fantastic we cannot thank or give praise enough for the food and service, it was a magical night. What a delightful local . Such a rarity in our part of the world, so much appreciated whilst on our holiday in North Devon. Atmosphere, service, beer and particularly food were all exceptional. We followed Trip Advisor recommendations for Sunday lunch in the Barnstaple area and were not disappointed. Be sure to book ahead as there aren 't too many tables and this is, rightly, a popular venue.

Without doubt , the bacon and cheeseburger the Chichester puts on , is the finest I have ever tasted. Cooked to perfection , succulent and oh so tasty. I know the same can also be said for the Calamari. As the reputation of this place grows, getting a table here is going to get harder and harder ; seriously, get in and see what everyone is talking about whilst you can This incredible menu is complimented by an amazing and dedicated team

Had not been to the chich for a while so decided it was time to return and give it another go. Previous meals had been excellent, and this time was no different. The guys in the bar were both welcoming and friendly. The only thing that upset me was that there was no steak and ale pie left, my very favourite !!! So scampi and chips it was, with the wife having the liver and mash. Both meals were lovely. Really nice and warm and lovely atmosphere.

We had an amazing meal yesterday at this restaurant. I enjoyed the pancake with beef, horseradish, and blue sauce with fries, while my partner tried the duck in berry sauce with a side salad and fries. We also had a delicious bottle of Rioja to go with our meal. Everything was incredibly tasty, and Bruce provided us with excellent service. We were thrilled to find out that they allowed dogs, which was an added bonus. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

We have not been in a while and we’re very pleased to find that things have not changed. It was quite busy but our table was ready and waiting for us. Staff were very attentive without being “in your face” and happy to replenish our drinks when needed. Very good selection of local produce meals on the menu and all reasonably priced. We all really enjoyed our evening and very happy to recommend to others, so much so we have decided to book our Christmas staff party there this year.

I had read about the Chichester Arms via accommodation info as I was visiting Bishops Taunton the North Devon area for a holiday. As this pub was conveniently located on the same road to where I was staying. I popped in confirmed dogs were allowed asked whether a booking was needed in order to eat, I was advised booking was advisable but there was availability for that evening depending on the time I intended to eat. I was flexible with my timings so was happy to take a table knowing it was booked from 7.30pm so there was time for me to eat and vacate it before the booked time.
