"Great location in furniture store in busy retail park. Two flights of stairs but there is a lift to the rear of the store. Reasonable menu but pricy and service is slow so you need that second cup of coffee at brunch. Food quality is pretty decent with the options chosen being poached eggs on taast with the eggs being pretty solid and the toast burnt. The second dish was the american pancake which was plentiful and was well received. Ther third dish was the pricier salmon and scrambled eggs which was by far the best meal. Overall 50£ for a brunch for three is at the top end and should be perfect in all areasMenu is certainly not bland but the service should be better at these prices there should not be a standard service charge applied which is a constant sore in the trade especially if the service is not that good and does not come with at least a smile would recommend the operators look at this area and make tipping optional as it should be. Overall, good experience would go back but would be looking for better service"

I wasn't aware this place existed before. I was shopping for furniture and was pleasantly surprised. They offer unique menu options and their food is delicious. Great value for the price.

Reguarly visit when I am in the area. Coffee is always great. If the weather is nice, the outside area is a lovely spot to enjoy a coffe and cake. Waiting staff are always friendly and chatty! Voir le carte

Very nice breakfast a bit of play on the traditional. Would have preferred a sausage other than a sausage patty and perhaps hash browns (I understand the hash brown debate! . Overall very nice good service and a nice pot of tea.

Lovely place for a lunch treat, forgot how good this place is Menu loosely based on Greek Mediterranean with a good mixture of dishes including meat, fish and vegetarian I started with the tomato soup which I would say the best I have ever tasted followed with Fish kebabs which included Tuna, Monkfish and Prawns My good lad had the Spanakopita pie with spinach and feta Desert lemon meringue tart and apple crumble with vanilla custard The meal and service absolutely faultless

Usually love this place! However the last time we visited it seems it has really gone down hill. Credit to Helen as she was amazing however the rest of the staff had 0 social skills, and the service was just not up to standard. The food was average, said they will be changing the menu the following week it seems they should be changing the staff too! All in all won’t be returning which is very disappointing! Lee the bar man, claimed he had been in the industry years however he was rude, clueless and the look of his age definetly didn’t match the class of his social skills. Voir le carte

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my daughter. The staff was very friendly and the service was quite quick. I had the brisket for lunch, which was lovely, along with the accompanying vegetables. I didn't want dessert, so I asked for the bill. The reason I gave it 3 stars was not because of the food or service, but because of the high markup on a very small bottle of Diet Coke. I understand that businesses need to make a profit, but £3.25 for a small bottle of Diet Coke, which would cost £3.50 for 4 in Tesco, seemed excessive. Paying £6.50 for 2 bottles felt way overpriced.

Our experience at Chadwick Cafe in Barker and Stonehouse on Saturday morning for breakfast left us £45 lighter in the wallet for a below-average meal. After being seated, we ordered an English breakfast which came with undercooked eggs and a cold, tasteless meal that appeared to have been made long before we ordered. I also ordered American pancakes, which was a letdown. The meal consisted of one burnt pancake topped with a handful of frozen strawberries. This was a disappointment as we had previously been satisfied with our lunch visit to Chadwick. Overall, this visit was disappointing and put a damper on our mood, especially considering the meals were priced at £13 for an English breakfast...

"Visited this weekend for a family celebration and had an unremarkable experience. Decor of establishment was rather nice. Admittedly, we were a large booking of 17 individuals and this can be challenging to manage and organise for such a small establishment. The mature gentleman was rather rude to our host whom asked for an additional chair for the party as we were one short despite finalising numbers as agreed earlier in the afternoon. This is no way an appropriate manner to treat guests and clearly set a bad example for his staff as well as the wrong tone for the evening ahead. Guests were not even properly seated before being hounded for their drinks order despite not being given a drinks menu. Upon asking about cocktails to the waitress whom was pleasant she was unable to give the full selection just the three she knew of the top of her head that were the standard run of the mill selection. To give full credit to her fo honest regarding the diaquiries before we ordered them in. The cocktails (passion fruit martini and cosmopolitan's) ordered were disappointing as they tasted watered down and lacked a bang. Don't understand why one of the passion fruit martinis was brought out in a drinks glass which was rather random. Drinks orders were taken on an ad hoc basis with the waiting staff not taking a full tables order walking away as people attempted to give their drinks order, unintentional maybe? We were rushed to give our starters/mains orders all of which came promptly and all guests received the correct order. The waiting staff shouted out food orders from the top of the table to identify who's order was who's. The pasta based dishes were pleasantly enjoyed yet the pizzas and parmesans proved to be somewhat vanilla. Not all guests had properly finished eating their meals before the gentlemen asked if he could remove plates before receiving an answer from the full table resulting in some guests to not finish their meals. We were not offered a deserts menu once they removed dishes from the table. We had second hand embarrassment for an additional family party whom were having a celebration meal at the restaurant. The party had started to get settled at the table putting out their balloons etc when the mature gent stormed over barking at them to move as he shoved table and chairs across the restaurant. This clearly made them feel uncomfortable as was noticed and commented by the service users of the restaurant. The waiting staff plonked the celebration cakes on the table one of which didn't even go to the correct individual. NO SPECIAL MEMORY OR MAGICAL MOMENT TO BE HAD FOR A 18TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. It would have been nice if they had asked before bringing it out as some of our party partially missed out on the occasion. The bill was given to the wrong individual instead of the host which allowed for everyone to see the bill when this was an private affair. To be perfectly honest we visited a few months earlier and had a disappointing experience but with better service. Linthorpe Road is bursting with alternative, superior, independent eateries that I would highly recommend instead."
