"Looking at other reviews, there is a feeling that some experiences have been great, others very poor. It must depend on who is working at the restaurant on a given night... It was a quiet night (off season) when we came to the Casa Roman but the atmosphere created by the building and the décor was promising. The young waiter (a Romanian) was very helpful and attentive, but when we asked for some sherry as an aperitif he told us they didn't have any... in a Spanish bar? However the range of gins was spectacular and the G&T we ordered was superb. The menu included the leg of lamb which we went for, but what was not specified was the accompaniment to the meat: there wasn't any. For the price, you would expect a salad or potatoes or something, but no, just the lamb. Which was, however, excellent. The wine was a local one, very drinkable but overpriced. So we paid a lot and didn't get what I would call value for money. I would be tempted to try the place again on another busier night, as I got the impression that not much effort was being made. No fault of the waiter who did his best. So good in parts. The town and surroundings are definitely worth visiting."

The best gin and tonic we have ever had!! Served by a young barman, with terrific attention to detail, the vast array of gins was very impressive. There is also a great selection of vodkas and single malt whiskies. Voir le carte

Estuvimos tomando el aperitivo en la preciosa barra. Los vinos en magnum, saben mejor. Nos pusieron de pincho una tortilla de patata muy rica. Y la variedad de botellas de bebidas me encantó! El camarero nos pareció un profesional, de los que quedan pocos.

This was a Monday night and tho’ there were a few people in the bar area, the restaurant (upstairs) was empty and in darkness. But they were happy to feed us and what a great meal it was relatively simple, a set menu beginning with a good, simple salad, then some cured meats and cheeses. The main dish was a wonderful haunch of lamb, great crispy skin on the outside, sweet tender pungent meat within. The wine was great too a Ribera del Duoro, ‘Cruz de Alba’ 2010. And the coffee to finish was especially fine. This meal was an outstanding experience in every way.
