"This café came recommended by a lifelong local, as somewhere that local fishermen eat, as it 's right by the dock. Rustic place full of locals, as you 'd expect, but for my dollar, the food is overpriced for what/where it is. Wine bottle came to the table pre-opened and was filled with whatever plonk was to hand. We ordered a second bottle of the same, which was a completely different wine. Owner talked some b cks about it being a different year , which was a joke, of course, but he declined to change it. Not sure I got the joke. Table full of fish fry and two bottles of plonk came to €120 for four, but it was barely worth half that. Avoid, in other words."

Lugar ideal para comer percadito frito... sardinas, boquerones. Sin lujos pero muy correcto. Tienen un menú por 23€.

We had a really bad experience in this restaurant. The food tasted really basic, and they were not fresh. Moreover, they were overpriced and had an awful service. Voir le carte

The last 20 years this place is our favorite restaurant in Palamos. The price for this outstanding quality is unbeatable. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested to taste the real spanisch cuisine!

I can’t understand the negative reviews. We have eaten here more than 20 times and it is a centre piece of our holiday in Palamos. Of course you are not going to get 5 star service at these prices but the food is always fresh (the owner has his own fishing boat) and always perfectly cooked. If you understand about food then you will appreciate this place. Furthermore 14€ for a 3 course set menu including a drink (we order 2 and they bring us the whole bottle). Thoroughly recommended.

The food is nothing special and not very fresh. The worst thing is the owner: very rude arrogant ripoff merchant! We asked for the price of the “gambas” (40 Euros) and decided not to have it. Next thing we know, he brings that same dish and despite us saying it’s not what we ordered he refused to take it back. After a while he came back and talked non stop about how he considers this to be “cheap” and that we should be grateful for what he had done… In short, horrible experience, avoid going there

"We had a meal consisting of the set menu, consisting of appetizers, main dishes and desserts. It was all wonderful. The restaurant served us a small appetizer with olives. We ordered as appetizers fried calamari, and croquetas of chicken and of cheese. Spanish croquetas have a thin crunchy breaded coat over a pasty filling. Both types were savory, and the cheese croquetas were filled with a kind of blue cheese, which kept its distinctive flavor but was not overpowering. Two groups of two diners shared two of the signature dishes at the restaurant: seafood paella, and seafood fideua. Fideua is a dish prepared much like paella, except using inch-long pieces of broken fideos, a fine noodle commonly used is Spain for soups, instead of rice. Both were excellent. I had the chicken, also very good. For desserts, we had chocolate soufflé with raspberry sauce which was not too sweet, just a little tart; sorbet de maracuya (passionfruit) which was also tart, but delicious in taste with a great consistency; mango ice cream, sweet and very creamy with a delicious flavor; requesón (a kind of creamy Spanish cheese) with layers of honey; and crema catalana, which is sort of like a Catalan version of flan with a surface of caramelized sugar, also delicious. All the desserts are house-made. The server was very polite, attentive and engaged, offering suggestions and demurrers as he felt necessary. The woman who served as the maitre d' was also very engaging, and described what were possibly her creations — the restaurant is small, and there were only the two of them in the dining room — lovingly, and made suggestions based on preference expressed. She may have been the owner; I didn't ask. I whole-heartedly recommend it for great food. It cost us €170 for 5 fixed-price dinners, a couple of glasses of wine, some soft drinks, a couple of bottles of water."
