If you get the snails, the wives, the wives. is a classic place that can be made in Madrid, founded in 1942, amadeo is a very nice person of cordial treatment and therefore the dishes are rich.

The place lacks any real ambience. Whilst the snails being served up (at 13 euro per ración) are fairly substantial, the broth really lacked flavour and the snails were quite gritty. Not enjoyable.

I think it's totally a scam this place, the man puts you the prices that he earns for two tablespoons reeds and a very normal snail dish. I don't recommend it at all, even if you get the snails and it's a lovely neighborhood. Voir le carte

It is very dirty,,I did not enjoyed the meal. Just stayed because it was popular and wanted to try snails for first time. By the way the taste of souse from snails was not good, but it is individual. Bigest problem for me was darkness and dirtyness. Napkins everywhere under chairs, tables not clean.......never repeat the experience. Big plus to girl that sels meal,very kind, friendly and nice!!!

This is a TRADITIONAL Spanish tapas restaurant. Their specialty is the caracoles (escargot/snails). The caracoles come out very hot and in a medium spicy broth with chorizo and are absolutely delicious. They also have an assortment of tapas. I quickly made the decision to stand/eat at the bar. I was not disappointed, as I love to people watch and the staff works hard and well together. Service was prompt, friendly, and had many suggestions, making it easy to get an order in.
